  • Sudden catastrophic change in tinnitus. Unbearable distortions/reactive sounds inside head. No apparent cause. Really, really upset
England is fast becoming an unlivable quagmire for millions of people and the government have their head in the sand..
There's a place on my street that emits a scrambling satellite-like sound which feels like I'm about to be transported into the matrix
Tinnitus friends - Do you use earplugs in the shower? I've been taking baths for over a year now and I'm thoroughly sick of it.
I've been to the pub a few times over the past week and now I'm paying for it. Huge reactive tinnitus spike. Hopefully it settles down again
I've been noticing my floaters a lot more recently. Doesn't help that I moved into a room with all white walls XD

@kingsfan I do this but they immediately return. Sometimes I focus on them and watch them slowly move out of my vision to appear smack bang in the middle again lol
I really want to go to a demonstration in London on the weekend and wear ear plugs, but not sure it's worth the risk..
Sometimes I'm happy that I'm single because since T I can't imagine having another human being in the same space as me in the evening
One of the worst things about having pulsatile tinnitus is not being able to exercise. I used to love jogging..
    Charburchar
In fact my first experience with PT was while jogging. I remember slowing down and noticing this intense whooshing sound coming from my ears. That night I could feel my heartbeat in my ears while trying to sleep. Been the same since. Sucks
Woke up today with T in my left ear which after a few hours has thankfully gone. I swear something new happens with my ears every week!
29 today and a year with T. It's been interesting to say the least
    Tweedleman
    HBD homie, time flies...
    Charburchar
    Thank you guys!

@Charburchar urgh a dirty KFC haha. You know I did the same thing last year. I hadn't had one in years, so I went a bought one - it tasted like shit. I'm sure it used to taste amazing!? I was very disappointed. P.S I also look 15 when I shave ;)

I can't seem to send you a message or comment on your posts anymore, so I'm commenting on here so you hopefully see this!
Had a dream that I was exposed to loud noise. Woke up with T roaring (it's always dead quiet in the morning) :O
    Steph1710
@Charburchar, good to know you're doing okay. I'm doing alright too. T is slightly elevated atm because it's "that time of the month" - luckily you don't have that issue with your T :p
As for sleeping routines, since I've started this new job, I've forced myself to wake up at 7:30am and to to bed at 11:00, even though I'm working at home till March.
    Steph1710
And I don't actually have to start till 10:30. I thought it would be a good idea to get into a routine before I actually have to go into work. Hopefully, that way I won't struggle as much getting up. Anyway, have you moved into your folks place yet?
    Charburchar
Oh dear I hope it's not too bad for you! That sounds sensible re reseting your sleeping schedule - I wish I had your discipline! How are you finding the new job btw? I haven't moved yet no, we are planning to later this year :)
Earplugs advice - when I'm wearing my earplugs the sound of my footsteps are SO loud. Are there other plugs that don't have this effect?
    TheDanishGirl
@kingsfan I have mine as far in as they can go and the occlusion effect is still bad
    Phendran
If one has plugs custom-made, I know that one may get them shortened if one is a singer, so that one's own voice will not be too loudened. Maybe the same could be done to achieve the result you desire?
    Charburchar
Thanku for the responses. I will look into getting some foam plugs & see if it has a different effect & if not then custom made
The mood swings that accompany T are exhausting. One day I'm getting on fine the next I feel like the world has ended. Blergh
    Steph1710
I totally understand. Last week my T was super quiet and I felt on top of the world! The past three days my T has decided to play up again and I can hear it outside if I stop and listen - so annoying. Of course this has made me feel like absolute shite. You're right about it being exhausting.

It is normal to have retracements. The important thing is the monthly trend.
    Steph1710
@Bill Bauer - I need a little one of you in my pocket, so when I'm feeling down I can pop you out and speak to you. My monthly trendy is T getting softer and my dominant tones have mainly dissappeared. @Charburchar, sorry I've hijacked your post. X
Woke up to what I thought was a plane passing over my house but soon realised the sound was coming from my ears. Never ending problems
    Charburchar
It sounds like wind passing through my ears, keeps coming and going. No idea what's caused this, I've not left the house in ages
    Charburchar
Figured out that it's probably a new variant of my reactive T or sound distortion, as it keeps happening when cars drive past
    Haven't read a book in ages :(
    Steph1710
I've read all the classics like Lord of the Rings, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies etc. Some cheesy sci-fi books like Slugs
Stuff by Irvine Welsh who wrote Trainspotting. Tbh I read whatever I fancy or see at the time. I've just finished reading Mythos, Heroes, and I'm about to start on Troy. And I'm also reading 'Modernism in Metro-Land.' So yeah, a really mixed bag.
    Steph1710
Shame about reading giving you anxiety. :( but I understand why. If your H developed the last time you read, then it's bound to make you build a bad connection between the two. I have a similar thing about it being spring time. My T started in April last year, and when I think of it nearly being that time of year again, then that gives me major anxiety.
    Charburchar
That sounds fascinating :O Coincidentally I was thinking about buying lord of the rings to get me started reading again (I've seen the films a thousand times - love em). Have you seen Trainspotting 2 btw?

I'm very similar - pretty much only read non-fiction over the past few years because I enjoy learning so much (also because of uni).

I'm sure we'll get over these anxieties soon enough :)
Cannot wait to move out of London..
    Steph1710
It's a bit different from architectural history but atm the National Trust are really struggling and they said last year that they were stopping the work placement programme I was on until summer of 2021 when they will look at restarting it.
So I jumped ship when I saw this job.
    Steph1710
It's brilliant though. I work somewhere different week and get paid £1200 untaxed because it's a traineeship, but the pay goes up majorly once I'm qualified. :) tbh, as long as I'm working in the heritage sector, I don't mind too much what I do.
    Charburchar
Haha it's fine - I often get notifications that disappear. I'm glad you got a job in your favoured sector :) it sounds super exciting!
