  • I seen where someone had said, they learned to deal with tinnitus better by just not caring any more about it.I'm going to give that a try.
I have perfect hearing.but I can hear my tinnitus over my tv right now.
    LukeYoung
@CrystalB what it means is that you may very well have hearing loss in the higher frequencies. Humans can hear upto 16,000-20,000 but the standard test goes up to 8 I think. In my case, I also have good hearing apparently. But my T sounds like a high pitched hiss. Kind of like an old tv when it's turned on.
    LukeYoung
You can actually go on websites and put the tone slider up until you match it with your T, this will give an idea on what frequency your t is
    CrystalB
@LukeYoung thats usually how mine sounds a extremely high pitched hissing sound. I'll have to try that. Because I can hear my T when it's loud some days over my t.v
This is odd.I have stayed indoors for 3 days not getting out much,my tinnitus has been more quite.I go outside today and it's becoming loud.
    Bill Bauer
Were you exposed to any loud noises outside?
    aot
    Maybe it's reactive?
    CrystalB
Nope no loud noises, but traffic.it's odd.maybe it is reactive, what does that mean?would weather have something to do with it?but wouldn't it be the same indoors as outdoors if it was weather?
Trying to sleep T is super loud tonight. Help
    Bill Bauer
Could something have caused this spike?

In any case, you need to start using sound masking. The sounds of crickets work well for high pitch T.
    CrystalB
We have had bad weather where I live and my tinnitus gets louder unbearable. I don't know why.
I have not been on here in years seems like. My tinnitus is still the same but I've became more immune too it, still gave bad days.
I haven't been on here seems like in forever!I've been ok,still have tinnitus, it's not changed but I have,I try not to let it win over me.
Hi. May I ask if you're still dealing with ETD? Have you found any kind of treatment or relief?
    CrystalB
I am still dealing with ETD. I have learned to use a exercise with popping and opening my ears it seems to help some with fullness, but tinnitus is same.
Why is it the more my ears feel better and not feel so full my tinnitus becomes louder! I'm so fed up!
    Strife_84
Same thing here. When my ears feel normal, tinnitus is louder.
    Bill Bauer
Have you been exposed to moderate noises like a vacuum cleaner?
    CrystalB
I do at work, it's a dish washer and buzzer when the food comes out of the fryer, I work in a deli, but that all the noises that I'm around that moderate. I tried to explain to my ENT about the situation with my ears and he said he didn't have a clue or understood why they were like that. He said you would think the better your ears felt the better the tinnitus become.
Anyone take allergy medications and has it had any affect on your tinnitus?its spring,my allergies are awful, taking Claritin.
    OnceUponaTime
I've been taking allergy shots for 2 years now and have helped me tremendously. I also take Claritin every now and then without any problems.
what's worse, ears in pain and full but tinnitus not extremely loud,or ears open with no pain but extremely loud tinnitus?whys my ears weird?
My ETD is giving me a fit, ears feel so full, I pop them and they go right back to feeling full. Will I ever get use too that feeling.
    Gman
They aren't totally better. I still get some fullness, but I can usually fake yawn it away now. ETs still do suction/clicks up way up inside my nose sometimes. They were much worse for a long time though is what I meant and slowly have improved.
    LukeYoung
I have this, it's super annoying. Unfortunately haven't found anything that helps really
    CrystalB
@LukeYoung i haven't found anything that helps either. Besides a few exercises I found on YouTube to help pop your ears. Sounds like your symptoms and mine are similar.
Went to get my hair done, was worried with the noise would spike my T with the hair dryer and other loud sounds, but so far so good! No spike!
Anyones tinnitus wake them up from sleep, vibrating your head?your ears/head Vibrates, keeps you from falling to sleep?
So just found out my Vitamin B-12 is kinda low,Doctor suggested I take supplements, would that make my tinnitus worse since my B-12 is low?
    jjflyman
    Keep us posted!
    H
I also have low b12 and iron deficiency. I take a lot of supplements but it may be that I need to eat meat again. Tinnitus got better after starting iron supplements, but it might be coincidental.

If T is because of iron deficiency, you get it in your left ear. Blood vessel related.
    CrystalB
That great your T lowered even if it wasn't because of your B12. My B12 I was told was on the verge of being the lowest.
Now my tinnitus sounds like a drink fizzing,I had to look over beside me to see if there was one. Anyone else's change like that?
    CrystalB
It sounds so weird lol. Mine is a very high pitch,I woke up and it's back to high pitch just not as loud.
    PDodge
    Yes so is mine!
    Bill Bauer
Often it flips back and forth between a high pitch tone and a hiss, and eventually becomes a hiss most of the time. A hiss is easier to ignore.
I need to go on a healthy diet lol
    New Guy
    You and me both!
    Zeneth
Me too, it's ridiculously hard because food is one of the main things I live for these days
    CrystalB
I feel you both! I love food! I just wish the good stuff wasn't so bad for you!
I go to my ENT in the morning for another hearing test see if anything has changed
    CrystalB
I know my first hearing test they done speech but no background noise and made me listen to little beeps as I pushed a button when I heard them, I don't know what they are going to do today. I've heard you can have high frequency hearing loss but I don't know if I have that or not, I know last time they told me my hearing was good.
    Contrast
    CrystalB
Well I did take the hearing test and it came back good again. Odd how they can't check for high frequency hearing loss
Went to sleep with ear plugs, my T was so bad last night, amazing how much my T changes over night to in the morning, anyone else like this?
    Red
Yes, my T is almost always the quietest right when I wake up.
My mother and brother are not doing well with there health, I can't lose my family at once. Stress is making my tinnitus worse. Please pray.
    S
I'll pray for your mother & brother, I hope their health improves. God bless you and your family.
    CrystalB
    Thank you so much
Feel sorry for you CrystalB, and everyone who has 'T', the intensity and loudness of the noise you describe sounds exactly like the sound I have all day.
    CrystalB
I don't have no hearing loss, I go back to my ent in a week or so for another test. How did you get your T?
    G Man
Good luck with your test. My tinnitus started after ear surgery, after a football burst my eardrum and caused damage to my inner ear during a football match. How did yours start?
    CrystalB
i had a Ocular migraine, two days later I woke up that morning and had tinnitus, don't know what caused it!
I've decided I'm going to take a break from here for a little while to help clear my mind, I will private message still.
