    Meniere's Disease

My life has changed a lot since the bad start of menieres 11 months ago now. I've not worked in all that time lost my job I was doing for 25 years, had my driving licence taken from me and my firm has filed for ill health retirement. My doctor is backing me and agrees that this would help me and...

    Meniere's Disease

I've had pulsatile tinnitus alongside the constant high pitched tone from time to time.

    Meniere's Disease

I did attend ENT for for physical therapy but they said my my balance wouldn't change much and there wasn't a lot I could do but get along with it the best I can. This week I've been told I've as good as lost my job after being off work now for 9 months and not being able to return to my job...

    Meniere's Disease

@Jkph75 They could only guess that I was born deaf due to my mother having a 52 hour bad labour and the stress on me that would have caused, once born I was rushed off to an incubator and my first 48 hours of life was touch and go as I was born blue and hardly breathing. I really only remember...

    Meniere's Disease

I was born deaf in my right ear which they found out I was at the age of 6/7 when I had my first school hearing test. it never really seemed to affect me apart from my balance was always off which made things like riding bikes etc very difficult to do and took me longer than other kids to do...

    Meniere's Disease

JAJ You sound like me I tend to laugh at everything it seems easier. My eye sight like yours is awful at times. I had them tested only 8 months ago and apart from needing reading glasses X1.5 at times all was fine, but with this Meniers there are days where my eyes do all sorts of weird things...

    Meniere's Disease

No I didn't think you were minimising my MD lol. You have to look at it in a lighthearted away at times or you'd end up so depressed all the time and as we know that just makes matters all the worse. Losing my driving licence and now a possibility of my job are bad enough without all the MD...

It's not been a bundle of laughs being 50 so far lol. I got MD a month after my 50th birthday. Typical

    Meniere's Disease

@Jkph75 my deaf ear was fine as far as I know at first but now it has the same problems as my good one at the same time. Fullness. Earache hot feeling, again unsure if it has tinnitus. When I mentioned it to my doc last visit he said there's a good chance, I'm off to see ENT again at some...

    Meniere's Disease

After nearly 9 months now I'm still going through all the symptoms there's been no let up, I'm already deaf in one ear and menieres started in my good ear last August with all the usual signs. Now about 6 weeks ago it appears to be affecting my deaf ear I go in cycles of about every 7-10 days ...

    Meniere's Disease

In all honesty I'm not too bad first thing in the mornings after a good 7 hour sleep, but it's totally the opposite if I drop off for a cat nap, I'm all over the place for a good hour or so. So I avoid cat naps at all costs if possible.

    Meniere's Disease

I'm only guessing that seeing as it's been 7 long months with all the symptoms of MD, that my body's starting to get used to how to cope with it more after all I've been off work all that time and been able to rest up as much as possible, I really don't know how I'm yet going to cope with going...

    Meniere's Disease

I'm sure it won't get so bad that it will disable you completely, it does eventually get to a point where your body will get used to the problems and you begin to cope better. But that point differs for us all sone will take longer and you like me could be more vulnerable as we started with the...

    Meniere's Disease

Like the two of you I've been deaf in one ear since probable birth or very early age. I read completely deaf people say we're lucky as we have half our hearing, but being deaf in one ear brings all sorts of unwanted frustrated problems that they don't understand about. And now MD in my what I...

    Meniere's Disease

I know what you mean Mand about not telling anyone. I hardly told anyone only very close people to me that I was hard of hearing and just muddled through even though most of the time I couldn't hear a lot of what they were saying. It wasn't until I was about 48 that things came to a head and...
