    I Just Can't Do It...

Wouldn't do any good, would it? I mean, compromised hearing would still be exposed to a dentist's drill via sound and vibrations.

Do I Just Hope Hyperacusis Will Go Away?

I've heard that hyperacusis is very treatable by using sound therapy.

When I Swallow I Hear a Crackle, Will It Ever Go Away?

I remember having bilateral inner ear infection in 2012, and for months, it sounded like I was talking through my Eustachian tube.

How and Where to Clean Earwax Out of My Ear?

Maybe not the best idea, but I use wax-softening drops, and a few days later, I use a sanitized comedone removal tool (with a loop) to rake the wax out, as it usually settles in the bottom of the ear canal. I removed quite a bit of wax this way recently.

Does Noise-Induced Tinnitus Become Worse Over the Years?

Yes, it can get worse if you fail to protect your hearing. Been there, done that, unfortunately.

    Is Medically-Induced Hyperacusis Reversible?

I've heard that this condition is easier to treat than tinnitus.

    Ear Congestion Lowers Tinnitus Sound?

Is that possible? Anyone ever experienced it? My tinnitus took a spike after using a bulb syringe *gently* to flush out some wax dissolving drops (done this before with no issues) a few weeks ago, but all of a sudden two nights ago, the sound began to drop dramatically. However, tonight, I am...

Is It Possible for One Excedrin Migraine Pill to Give Me a Giant Spike?

I'm not familiar with Excedrin, but if it has acetaminophen (Tylenol) in it, then, yes, it can bother your ears. Dr. Oz, with the help of hearing experts, has proven that acetaminophen is bad for the health of your ears. Over time, the drug strips away protective layers within the inner-ears...

    Novolog & Tinnitus

I can't believe this stuff ramps up tinnitus, but it isn't permanent that I know of. Anyone else have issues with tinnitus and insulin?

New here, but not to tinnitus ...

Welcome to the forum, Dr. Nagler. I've seen your postings at TSMB, and I'm sure your experience will be welcome here.

Dental Work (Including Drilling) & Tinnitus — Questions and Experiences

Depends on how your tinnitus started. If your ears have suffered from acoustic trauma, then yes, it's possible that ultrasonic sound waves from the drill can cause further damage to your hearing. Wearing ear muffs may help some, but the real problem lies with bone-conducted sound waves. On the...

How Do You Keep Your Sanity?

Funny you mention that. Daytime is my worst time as well.

    Depakote (Valproate)

Bump. What's wrong with TSMB, anyway? You can't even have a decent discussion about tinnitus and its causes over there without being jumped on by a handful of know-it-alls. Especially if you mention anything about ototoxicity. Thank goodness it's not that way here.

    A Question of Religion...

I seen God heal many folks in my lifetime, so yes, he can heal. Divine healing comes from having a child-like faith. Sometimes, though, it's not easy for us grown folks to accept that kind of faith.
