    UK-Based Tinnitus or Hyperacusis Clinicians?

Nobody in the UK has found a competent clinician besides Jacqueline Sheldrake? Really?

    UK-Based Tinnitus or Hyperacusis Clinicians?

Can anyone recommend a competent clinician in the UK to diagnose Hyperacusis, that won't charge £300+ like some of them do? Thanks

Do I Have to Pay Several Hundreds Pounds for a Correct Diagnosis?

Thanks, guys, but I'm still no clearer. Philb, You say go to the NHS as H is easy to diagnose, but all I hear is about how clueless most practitioners are. You even sort of allude to that yourself when you say their idea of TRT was to give you an in-ear generator and off you go, although maybe...

Do I Have to Pay Several Hundreds Pounds for a Correct Diagnosis?

I apologise for starting several threads, but I've done as much research as I can and can't find the exact answers. My question here is to ask is Jacqui Sheldrake the only person that I can get an accurate diagnosis from, with me being based in England? The impression I am getting is that only...

Why No Threads on TRT or Pink Noise CD?

I'm glad your treatment helped you. Thanks for your replies :)

Why No Threads on TRT or Pink Noise CD?

Thanks a lot. I've been reading about the sound therapies, it just seems odd to me how there aren't more threads from people talking about how their therapy is going. My Hyperacusis isn't as bad as many on here, so that's probably part of this, but the TRT that costs 2k + seems excessive to me...

Why No Threads on TRT or Pink Noise CD?

I'm looking in to both of these and it struck me how few posts there are about people undergoing these things, anyone know why? I would have expected many threads about people undergoing these and how they're getting on.

Taking a Picture of Hair Cells / Ear Damage

It sounds daft, but sometimes I have dreams that are prophetic or show me how to resolve a problem. Well, I had a dream that showed an image of, I think, stereocilia, as I'd never seen an image of that before my dream or even heard of it. In my dream I think it showed me that I perhaps had one...

    What are ''everyday sounds''?

I haven't been tested, Lynn. I'm sort of just hoping this gets better with time. I have no desire to spend the rest of my life going for tests and posting in a Hyperacusis forum. I've done that with other things and don't have the energy for a new thing. If it got to that stage I honestly don't...

    What are ''everyday sounds''?

Thanks, guys. Why would people use expensive TRT if they could buy a $20 pink noise cd?

Just assume you could have an image? :)

    What are ''everyday sounds''?

Can anybody elaborate, as I am so confused. We're supposed to expose our ears to ''everyday sounds'' to help our ears recover from Hyperacusis, but what precisely is an ''everyday sound''? If I'm in the supermarket and there is music playing at a level that previously wouldn't have bothered me...

Taking a Picture of Hair Cells / Ear Damage

Or would someone with Hyperacusis be missing lots of stereocilia, and missing one or two would mean they didn't have Hyperacusis?
