My tinnitus came back this morning but those 10 minutes of complete silence were wonderful

I had to log back in here because for the first time ever I barely hear my tinnitus. I just got over a fever a few days ago, and during the fever it got really loud. Now 4 days later it’s like 0.01 ss just in the right ear. Left ear is totally silent, can’t hear anything. DUNNO IF THIS IS GOING...

8mo update: Pretty much same as last mo. I have good news tho: someone at my work who got tinnitus a year ago has moments of silence. She used to have straight EEEEE, but now there are pauses in between. I’m going to take a break from posting monthly. I’ll come back and post if anything changes...

7mo update: Same as last month, 2/10-5/10 high pitched hissing. I no longer think about it except in the car with the windows up and when trying to sleep. I’m no longer suicidal over it and haven’t been for the last 2 months, but I still hope it continues to fade.

6mo update: Same as last month

5mo update: Mid ring 99% gone, only comes back for a few mins every few days. Now just high hiss that fluctuates in vol from 2/10 - 6/10

I see. I usually hear mine the entire day. Mine started from noise at a concert.

I initially had three tones: a low-pitched hum, a mid-pitched ringing, and a high-pitched hiss. When I first got tinnitus 5 months ago, it was mainly the mid-pitched ringing. It seemed to come directly from my ears, and I noticed it was especially loud when I pressed my ears against pillows...

My only tone now is a high hiss but it sometimes can be a REALLY loud hiss. Better than a ringing but still sucks.

Thankful that I mostly only have 1 tone left (mid and low only pop up for a few mins every few days) but it fluctuates in volume HARD

Mid ring came back for 2 days, then faded. It’s been a week since. Mostly only have high hiss now.

4mo update: I think 2 of my 3 tones are fading. I had a high hiss, mid ring, and low “woo”. Barely have last 2 now, hiss still strong though

Something that’s helped me is collecting screenshots of success stories. Whenever I feel a panic attack coming on or start feeling suicidal, I open that folder and re-read the main parts I cropped. Another thing that helps me is listening to artists who have tinnitus. I grew up listening to...

That may be true, but I’m having so much difficulty coping that, for now, I feel like I need to believe it will get better. My boss had tinnitus from a loud explosion in her car during an accident, and she told me it lasted two years before fading completely. She’s gone several years without it...
