Many compounds we see in pharmaceuticals are research derived from natural compounds, and/or molecular structure modified to be more potent. I wouldn't exclude herbals completely, however definitely approach with skepticism. NAC, Vitamin Bs and many known otoprotective 'things' are 'natural'.

This is a good response to give. If it was snake oil, they'd claim it fixes everything. I like the degree of humility here.

Thanks for posting this! The data seems very good. There have been many companies that have failed in this space but, given the people behind this + their backgrounds, it inspires a bit of confidence and hope. Let's see how the clinical trials go.

Me too. Phase 2 will prove if their models translate to humans. However, after reading some the literature I'm skeptical as AC102 seems to just be Prednisolone delivered through intratympanic injection (source). And other clinical trials using Dexamethasone (a stronger drug) such as NCT00097448...
