Floaters are annoying, but nothing compared to tinnitus distress. But as my tinnitus has gotten worse so has the floaters, and it’s just scary. Obviously there’s something in my brain, some sensory filtering that has malfunctioned big time and it’s just getting worse. And I wonder how bad it can...

I sometimes have brief moments where I belive I might be able to eventually live a decent life with this condition, more often I’m horrified of the level of my tinnitus and can’t see how I’ll ever be ok! But I will keep trying until I won’t.

My mental health is somewhat better while my tinnitus has gotten slightly worse. I’m taking one day at a time, trying to live my life more or less as pre tinnitus. But I rarely enjoy life anymore and seeing myself under this level of distress/annoyance years ahead is more than I can bear...

First dose of new AD Vortioxetine this morning, introduced as I taper Ecitalopram. No sideeffects yet, beside really quiet T :)

@DeanD I read somewhere you can’t sleep (at all). I think you should discuss with your GP to short-term try a mild benzo instead of Zopiclone. Hopefully it could help you both fall asleep AND stay asleep (at least for a couple of hours).

Please Don't Say There's No Cure for Tinnitus

Ironi. If your post truly was an effort to warn sufferers against noise, I’m sorry.

Please Don't Say There's No Cure for Tinnitus

Well that’s the first post I’ve ever seen on Tinnitus Talk that I actually think should be removed. There are kids here (thinking their lives are over)! Know your audience!

Anyway if Ativan helps you relax I see no harm in using it for a while longer. I can’t imagine such a low dose is holding you back in terms of improving.

As I’ve written in one of my threads my tinnitus often seems somewhat so quiet when in complete silence, but I’m often horrified how prominent it is when there’s external sounds as fans, AC, traffic noise, dishwasher etc. heard. I don’t think it reacts or the volume changes, but it just seems so...

But I wonder if it’s more the effect of «contrast» as however loud external sounds are you simply can’t mask with evironmental sounds when T > 8 - 10 kHz. At least I can’t. Are you sure it’s all about reactivity and not at least partly related to it’s high frequenzy? 2/2

How loud is your baseline? I understand you have quite high pitch tinnitus? The thing with high pitch is that althoug not that loud it can be heard over almost everything, I often wonder if mine is reactive as it seems the louder I turn up fans, white noise, AC etc, the more prominent my hissing...

I have quit and reinstated Remeron like 5-6 times the last 8 months. Once I’m on those I can swear I get worse, once I’m off I get worse. It’s a neverending cycle, trying all these things and constantly monitoring it’s effect on your T. You could look into the progress of @Vicki3116. Thats one...

I dont’t think so, but brains are different so who really knows. Could get better, worse or stay the same (I got worse, but was it the benzo?) As you know I believe searching for and trying all kinds of things to get better makes some of us worse, as opposed to just accept that this is how my T...
