Surgery, IV Antibiotics (Cefoxitin) & Tinnitus — Can the Tinnitus Get Worse?

I was wondering if people have had their tinnitus increase after surgery? I'm worried about the antibiotics they want to give which are different from ones that are taken orally since they are delivered via IV and hit you much more quickly and in a much larger one-time dose. They've told me...

Tabletop Fountain for Masking Tinnitus While Working

I use YouTube ASMR videos from time to time with nature sounds that help me. I imagine it would have the same effect but for free. Though the thought of having a physical fountain on my desk does seem appealing. Edit: I just looked at this fountain on Amazon and it appears that some people have...

What’s The Longest Time Habituation Can Take?

When I first got tinnitus it took me well over a year to habituate. The first permanent spike I got it took about 1-2 months. The second permanent spike, about 2-3 weeks. You see where I'm going with this. Each time it's gotten easier for me and I've been less freaked out about the changes to my...

Doxycycline — Is It Safe for People with Tinnitus?

I was on Doxy for a couple of weeks. It increased my tinnitus slightly, but worse, it caused me to have muffled hearing, which went away after I stopped taking it.

Doxycycline — Is It Safe for People with Tinnitus?

It absolutely can be. My first negative experience with ototoxic meds was Augmentin of which Amoxicillin is a component. It tripled the volume of my tinnitus 3 years ago and it's never gone down since then.

Tinnitus & Hearing Safe Antibiotic Ear Drops for Ear Infection? Worried About Neomycin and Ciprodex

I may need ear drops for an ear infection. It's my understanding that antibiotic ear drops just stay in the outer part of the ear and don't even enter your bloodstream. So in that case, would normally harmful and ototoxic antibiotics like Neomycin and Cipro be okay if taken in ear drop form...

What Is a Safe Antibiotic for Prostatitis That Doesn't Worsen Tinnitus or Hearing?

I was on and off antibiotics for a while for prostatitis. Augmentin, which includes Amoxicillin doubled the volume of my tinnitus permanently. Antibiotics that didn’t increase my tinnitus were cefdinir, cefaclor, and bactrim.

Ursodiol Worsened My Tinnitus — I Stopped Taking It, Yet Tinnitus Keeps Getting Worse

I'm officially freaking out now. I posted a few days ago but no one replied. I think this may have been caused by the prescription drug called Ursodiol but not 100% sure. I was also taking a couple of supplements too at the time (peppermint oil and vitamin D). I noticed an increase in the...

Rocephin (Ceftriaxone) — Ototoxic or Safe for Tinnitus Sufferers?

I've taken a couple of cephalosporin antibiotics (cefdinir and cefaclor) over the past couple of years and did well on them with no increase in my T. I haven't taken rocephin, which is in the same class, but it's possible that it could also be okay. Aminoglycosides and fluouroquinolones are the...

Ursodiol Worsened My Tinnitus — I Stopped Taking It, Yet Tinnitus Keeps Getting Worse

A few weeks ago I started to take Ursodiol for my gallbladder. It set off my tinnitus slightly, and I continued taking it for a couple of weeks. I eventually stopped because my tinnitus continued to get worse. After that, I tried more natural supplements which I think may have worsened my...
