A Positive Thread: What Calms Your Tinnitus?

Just trying to relax. Lying down, taking a few deep breaths, and (most of all) prayer. My T was caused by a virus.

How Common Is It for People to Focus on "Negative" Things?

I had anxiety and depression before T, and I always tended to focus on the negative. I'm actually trying to focus more on the positive and not worry about the future so much. For me, a lot of it has to do with a renewing of my faith. I'm just trying to be thankful for good days; realize bad...

Saw New ENT Today, and Am Kicking Myself for Not Going Sooner

HI, Samantha. Yes, I did. The hearing loss isn't really perceptible in day to day life, but it does show up on my hearing test.

Saw New ENT Today, and Am Kicking Myself for Not Going Sooner

Hi. No, it's too late (I'm almost a year in). If you're only 4 weeks in, please see an ENT as soon as you can. Not sure what the cause of your T is, but since you are in early days of this, the shots may be an option for you!

How Much Does Your Tinnitus Vary on a Day to Day Basis?

There are days when I don't hear it at all, and those are becoming more frequent. But, there can be something that suddenly sets it off, and I'll spike. It might last for a day, or a couple of days. The last really bothersome spike was on New Year's Day.

    My Time in NYC

Jamie, not trying to hijack your thread (especially with your good news!), but how did the T react overall in NYC? I never had a T problem living there for 12 years - ever; even in the most quiet, still places. Ears never bothered me with the traffic, sirens, subways, general noise... I...
