Honestly, I thought there were a couple of OK days but it’s just horrendous. Sorry to be negative but I just can’t believe this is happening. I was always good about protecting my ears. No loud places, no headphones. And then my daughter was having a meltdown and yelled. End of story.

Thanks. Like most, I habituated to the first tormentuous level of 5.5/10. But after my daughter's scream it went to 9/10 and has stayed there bouncing around and ruining my life like most people. Just from being a father. FML.

I am 6 weeks into a spike caused from my daughter screaming into my ear. Nothing is masking it. On Saturday I thought that it was calming down and almost, almost had hope that it was getting better. I even started to pay attention to the sports on TV but then on Sunday it was out of control and...

This spike has not subsided. At this point I am convinced that there are nerves in the air canal that can get messed up from a manual ear cleaning.

Thanks for all the suggestions but it feels/sounds like this is it. I’m so stupid for seeing a doctor. But what was I going to do, I had ringing in my other ear which was occluded. Anyways it feels like I lost the fight.

So after almost 2 weeks, the ringing is still there and loud.. doubtful this is a spike and it's my new baseline which is absolutely horrible. I looked at all the anatomical diagrams of the ear and I just don't understand how a manual ear cleaning with minimal wax removal did anything to put me...

We will see, unfortunately you probably know chilling is not really easy when your mind is continually racing over a noise :(

Yes. She is a PA and has done ear wax removal on patients before.

I had my wife look in my ear and she said it looks fine. I don’t know. I feel like I am F’d once again. Like all my fellow compadres.

I have been getting ear pain.

Why would I have a new tone and sharper pitch. I even second guessed going on but my left ear was blocked and I started having tinnitus in that ear. So stupid.

I'm praying for it to just go back to my crappy baseline.

Yea it was with a microscope. It was done at an ear institution by a reputable ENT.

Yea. I’ve been wondering that. Not sure but I am having ear pain as well and a new loud tone. I had my wife look in my ear last night (physician's assistant) and she said it looked good. No redness, no wax on the ear drum.
