I Have Kept Making My Hyperacusis Worse for Years — No More!

It's likely not for the rest of your life. Maybe only 3 - 5 years.

I Have Kept Making My Hyperacusis Worse for Years — No More!

I had burning ear pain in 2019-2020 from 1.5 h commuting with my car. And I was lucky that COVID-19 came and I could sit in my apartment 24/7 with earmuffs and recover as I could work from home. Probably otherwise I would have completely destroyed my ears before quitting my job. I can assure you...

I Have Kept Making My Hyperacusis Worse for Years — No More!

This is maybe correct for someone with healthy ears. But for someone who already has tinnitus and hyperacusis, this is bad advice. One should not neglect the pain signals that the body is sending. Maybe some also improve by ignoring the pain, but you are then playing with fire as you could end...

I have the Sony WH-1000Xm3. Maybe now there are even newer versions of it. They are top ranked when tested for ANC. But you need to wear foam plugs underneath. Some messages "Battery 90%" are quite loud.

    War in Ukraine — Megathread

I am not so sure if you can say that Russia allied with China. China probably does not want to break all economic ties with the west. I think a few billions each year for a few years is possible. By the way this gives probably a good boost to the US defense industry and Europe is now buying...

    War in Ukraine — Megathread

I am wondering why there is such scepticism in the USA when it comes to supporting Ukraine. I think there was no such scepticism during the Afghanistan & Iraq war and now we have a war in Europe. And they only need military aid and money. No US trooper will risk his life there.

    Viagra/Sildenafil with Pre-Existing Tinnitus

I read somewhere that mostly this is a blood flow problem. So you could try supplementing with Magnesium & Potassium, which are also good for the ears. May not be a short therm solution, but worth trying.

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

That's how I understand the upper left quadrant as well. For those the treatment increased loudness, but reduced TFI. I am also wondering how that's possible.

Hough Ear Institute's Hair Cell Regeneration Project

Fortunately, for most, tinnitus improves. So finding someone like that is not difficult. But did the pill in this case help him? Maybe he would have had the same improvement if he took a sugar pill.
