Has anyone seen the papers related about gamma secrete inhibitor, like this: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23312516 From this paper I find the drug works much better at the apex area of the cochlear than the base. I am afraid Regain may not be efficient for high frequency hearing loss.

What are the cons?

Sorry it's just my guess. Your reply may answer my question. Comparison is only one of the aims in phase 3. So they may not skip it.

I find that generally the aim of a phase 3 trial is to compare the effects of a new drug with a present most useful drug. Since currently there exists no drug for hearing loss, so if phase 2 is successful, could FX-322 skip phase 3?

Here is the publication from Frequency Therapeutics: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.celrep.2017.01.066. I just had a quick read and think the paper says they can expand the number of positive supporting cells. So maybe even if you have some injury to your supporting cells, the drug can still work.

That's sad. So when FX-322 comes, we all have some flat epithelium that may decrease the effect.

Does anyone know if the loss of hair cells cause damage to the supporting cells? FX-322 use supporting cells but if someone's supporting cells get hurt, it means nonsense? And it seems like there are different types of hair cells since they sense different frequencies, so FX-322 could...

I applied for an appointment, but I think I will be refused. I can't hear anything above 10 kHz in my bad ear, although my hearing is normal below 8 kHz. It's a steep decrease from 9 kHz. Maybe FX-322 can help me with my hearing and then I could try Lenire to solve my tinnitus.

So if phase 2a goes super well, the company will skip into phase 3 directly? I give huge confidence in FX-322 due to its theory. Did such things happen in past?

Can someone explain why phase 2 will be split into a / b / c sub phases? And I found CGF-166 has reached phase 2c, why does it get little attention?

I wish I can habituate it and one effective treatment will arrive within 10 years!
