Yeah it does fade, two of my friends had ear infection for both of them it just faded away after 3~6 months, but not for me..

In my opinion when the body is on a died he becomes shocked and as it goes into survive mode all of your senses becomes very amplified. Event people without tinnitus as they go on a died usually they become more jumpy/nervous. So perception of tinnitus should go off the roof.
