  • Hey Striveon, how are you? Is all well? My surgery went well!
    S
Hi Joe, I'm glad to hear your surgery was a success! May God continue to bless you.

I'm doing a bit better Joe, what I mean is that I've been trying my hardest to become mentally stronger and have hopes of s cure with these machines that should be releasing hopefully soon! I've been prioritizing my mental health. Though, I still can't break the fear of going out with friends as I'm scared of T worsening. Any tips?

    How are you doing Joe?
Exhausted.. It's difficult to sleep :(

@Striveon, Yes I had probably 3-4 over the years. I believe I have moderate sleep apnea and and teeth grinding/clenching. CPAP is a low pressure air pump that you wear over you mouth/nose to eliminate sleep apnea. I have a appliance that I prefer with bands on it to pull your lower jaw ahead to keep your airway open.

Wow, that sounds very interesting.. do you sleep in a lab and they watch you, or how does it work?

Yeah, they monitor with a camera mainly for abnormalities like sleep apnea (stop breathing) Can be bad for your heart and other internal organs. If you have health insurance they normally cover it, costs 2-3 thousand I would guess.
2/3 of the time the tinnitus does not bother me anymore because of habituation; and the other third use to bother me some; but at this point I have habituated to the point where I am only afflicted maybe 10% of the time or less. So truly God's grace has been sufficient for me to live a normal life with this malady!
I keep track by assessing how the day went. I have intermittent tinnitus; another words some days it is louder than others. And some days it is soft part of the day, and the other part louder. So the days it hardly bothers me, I call good, the days it is loud I call moderate; and the days it is partly good and partly loud I judge the percentage!
I have had tinnitus now for almost seven years. On e thing that has helped me over the last four or five years was to track each days results. I have been doing this over four years; and it really helps when you go through a rough patch. You can look back and be encouraged!

How do you keep track of your T? Day by day? Hour? Morning, day and night? Thank you for tip by the way :) I appreciate it!
Hey Striveon, how goes the battle? Keep fighting the good fight of faith; and one day this will be a distant memory for you to look behind and see God's faithfulness in all things! Remember, God will never allow us to be tested beyond our ability to endure; but will with the test make a way of escape! (1Cor. 10:13)

Hi @Joe P. Tamborra, I wondered if I could respectfully ask you something, I grew up in a Christian community and that phrase was chucked around a lot (1Cor. 10:13) but from my experience it's not really true... I know of three strong Christians who have taken their own lives due hardships they can't endure. Like I really struggle with it because it sounds good but it's just not true...

    What are your thoughts?

Thank you for your kind message Joe. May God continue blessing you on this journey. I continue praying each day. @hurtingdream and I will continue our strong faith and continue to endure this tough battle. May God continue blessing us all, and may god liberate us of this tough battle, amen!

Mine is too. I have a static hiss sound. I only have diazepam and gabapentin to use. Well I do have hearing aids I try sometimes. Noise is worse than a headache sometimes.
I had different plans for my future... wtf is this?! It's so difficult to hang on day by day. I hate my life!

Aww. {{{Big Hug}}}} Striveon. You are young and chances are you will get better. I keep you in my prayers.

Thank you Once, I only hope for us all to get better as this is a heavy mental burden we deal with. I also keep you and all of us suffering in my prayers.

Same here :( recently graduated at 22 with so many plans, but all ruined thanks to hearing loss and tinnitus. However that's not to say we can't make new plans and still live our lives to the fullest :)
Hello Striveon, how are you? I hope you are feeling better today! Let me know how things are going for you.

Hi Joe, thank you for asking :) I have my ups and downs. Mostly downs as it's a mental burden, but my mom keeps reminding me to have faith and that God will heal me. (Help yourself, that I'll help you) we are going to start TMJ treatment and hopefully God will be by my side to help me also. How are you doing Joe?
I'm 20 & I feel like my life is now trapped due to tinnitus. I wish I could have back the life I used to live... memories.
    S
@just1morething I just read tht you got a refill, I hope you soon get a relief of this noise.

@Striveon other than using oral splint for TMJD my options are limited to gabapentin/diazepam/clonazepam at this point. Diazepam could relax my jaw muscles when sleeping. If all my damage is from airplane barotrauma and noise exposure then not good. I try to be be proactive and positive if possible.

I do hope you are getting some relief!
