  • Can't decide whether to take Prednisone for a spike or not. It sucks because you never know if its going to get worse or better.

@Steph1710 It seems that people do not really take it for spikes. It's more about the unknown and doing everything you can before it's too late. You feel me?
    Steph1710
Yeah, I feel ya. :) I was just saying that I have never used it for a spike. I would always take the chance that it will get better on it's own. Even with my monstrous spike, I never took it. But, it's a gamble, like you say. *shrugs*
Been dealing with a spike for the last two weeks, I got Prednisone on hand debating if I should take it or not, any input?

@Stacken77 No clue. Might've been when I was talking to my friends for a few hours or when I was talking to my loud parents. Either that or Ambien. Hard to say but I've had the steroids on hand since the beginning of the spike but I've been hesitant on taking it

I would hold off on steroids. Just temporary relief for a risk of more tones. Just my opinion
What is the best way to talk to friends while playing video games without using a headset? Looking for a boom mic setup or something
    Stacken77
I simply have a cheap external microphone laying in front of me and using speakers. Communication software like Discord seems to filter out the speaker output from my microphone nicely, so it have worked pretty well so far.
My vision has been really weird for the past few days. I can't tell if it's static or blurry. I really hope it's not visual snow

Go to an eye doctor, maybe you just need glasses?
    Matchbox
Yeah it is, tends to follow T. Noone knows why.
I had it previous but mine got markedly worse following T.
That said....I don't "suffer" with VS.

@Matchbox I think I might've had it before as well. It has gotten a lot better since I last mentioned it. It is definitely easier to cope with mild visual snow rather than mild tinnitus imo
My vision has been getting worse over the past few weeks. I hope it's just a side effect of steroids because this really sucks.

Many effects are not permanent when leaving the medication back to normal.
I've noticed that my Tinnitus is a lot better when first waking up in the morning. Anyone else?
    Tezcatlipoca
    Yup, same here
    Syb
Same here... as long as I don't move my head or get out of bed. Sometimes I stay in my bed longer in the morning just so my T remains quiet a little longer.

@Syb I find myself doing the same thing. Sometimes the best part of my day is going back to sleep so I can wake up again and feel the relief
Ever since I got Tinnitus, I've been looking to try things I would have never ever have tried before in order to make myself feel better.

The golden advice given to me was that; if one area of your life is a bit shit, focus on improving another area to even it out. Good work!
How long did it take for your Hyperacusis to go away after acoustic trauma?
    Anniz
I experienced sound sensitivity, i dont know if it was hyperacusis but every sound hurt a lot for about 2 weeks since T started. then it slowly got adjusted (i was purposely exposing myself to some sounds so i dont be in full silence all the time) and then within a month the sensitivity went away and now its just ringing.

Anyone have any experience with HBOT? It is going to be my 6th week of T next week and I am strongly considering it. Any input from anyone?
    Bill Bauer
Search this site. I know I had posted here about my HBOT experience.
    Steph1710
Have you searched for threads on HBOT on the forum? I know there has been mixed reviews for it. I believe the general consensus is not to try it, unless it's only been like 24 hours before your tinnitus started - I think otherwise, it's no good, and can actually make it worse. BUT, I'm only saying that from what I remember reading - I could be wrong.
