  • @TheFriendlyGhost - hello how are you? Hope you are doing better. I just read one of your threads. Your situation sounds so much like mine.

    @4Grace Hi!
    About the same. My right ear has improved a bit but the left is about the same. Mentally I'm doing really bad. How long have you had nox?
    Hey! How are you doing these days?

    That's great that you live in a fairly quiet area; sure beats me living at a busy intersection in a big city, haha. And yes - the motorbikes are the worst! Big part of why I stopped going on walks when it started to get warmer out.

    I'm in an apartment too, & I have family that comes by to help me. It would be really tough not having that help.

    Does your apartment have a fire alarm speaker? As in one connected to the building's alarm system (not simply a smoke detector)? I have one & I'm terrified of it going off!

    My apartment do not have a alarm connected to the building's alarm. I would also be terrified if I had one.
    Hey, just wanted to see if your symptoms have gotten better?

    I can feel how it feels really tight in the ear and you really want to stretch it out, but you can't. This feeling increases when I am exposed to sound. If I tilt my head to the side and sort of try to stretch the ear, I can often hear sounds that sound like bones clicking in the ear.

    I hope you are doing okay despite the circumstances.

    @TheFriendlyGhost Sounds like you may have some central sensitization going on (thinking about your 'touch' symptoms). Also , cutlery hitting plates is the worst! I use plastic cutlery for this reason, & although it's still not ideal, it definitely makes a difference, so thought I'd share!
    Hi there! Just checking in to see how you're doing.

    I had an appointment to see Dr. Timothy Hain next week (he's a neuro-otologist that's been talked about on TT before) but they canceled my appointment b/c I'm on government insurance and said it was illegal for them to accept cash payment from me. Waited almost 3 months for the appointment...

    I understand that you don't want to be in the apartment in the city if a train is passing by every five minutes. Sleeping with ear protection is no fun either. I try to avoid it. Also, my tinnitus sounds 3 times louder with hearing protection.

    Sad to hear that your appointment with Dr. Timothy Hain was cancelled. Is there any way you can get a new appointment? I'm not familiar with how it works in the US.
