  • Also when you first got pain and said that even talking was too painful, how did you recover?
    Andrei88
Yes that was immediately after I got T from acoustic trauma. it was horrible, but it got better after a few weeks. till the point where I had pretty much no pain.
Hey, hope you are well. Could you let me know how your pain is these days? Thanks
    Andrei88
Hallo, I still have pain, at times its worse than other times, sometimes I dont really feel pain, it really depends if I have been exposed to certain sounds.
Anti depro meds are doing their thing, glad I chose to get help with my mental health.
    4Grace
I have seen them save many lives. They work. You will feel less bothered about T. I wish you well, always.
    Andrei88
@4Grace thank you, they have def helped me a lot so far, my reasons for going on them is not really due to T but it does help.
had a few days of being alone in silence, it really helped with the pain to come down. yesterday had to talk to people, now the pain is back
    4Grace
I can relate to this, pain comes down in silence but not the level of T.
my insane flare up has gone come down quite a bit. my normal T and H is bad, but the flare up was just awful. stil on magnesium.
What meds has reduced the pain in your ears from Hyperaccusis pain?
    Yosemite
Some people have used Ambroxol and reported success.
    Yosemite
There's also Clomipramine. See its dedicated thread in the Hyperacusis section.
T and H have made become a burden to others. Gets one down. There is big chance id never be able to get married die to this.
    Sansa
I honestly feel the same, it's a horrible feeling
    Andrei88
Jip, and it does not help that others cannot see or hear or feel what we do.
searching for Tinnitus on google or youtube would make you believe there are many cures! so many scammers out there!

I'm sure many of us have had an experience whereby a well-intentioned family member shares a link to some demonstrably bogus therapy or device or something. The number of times Lenire has cropped up...

@Andrei88 - just tap the back of your head. Lol
Hyperacusis pain is the worse! noise, pff after 12 years I can live with it, but the pain, naah. it ruins everything! just wana make music!
    streifzug
I wanna fire up ableton live! and make shitty electronic music like I used to :(
I cant live like this anymore. it just keeps on getting worse. my T is so loud, my H pain is horrid.

12 years. Wow. You are a superhero in my book. Sorry you have had to suffer for so long. Life can really be unfair. Hope real help is available soon.
    Andrei88
thank you! yes I have times where it has gotten better, but it just started to go downhill again. back on magnesium again to see if it helps. Also hope we get a real cure soon!!
It is so anointing when people play music outside, doof doof doof doof doof, same repetitive irritating beat non stop.
    Mo8409
Yeah, I live off of a busy street and hear the cars bass vibrating.
    Andrei88
@Mo8409 thats also supper annoying! I want to live in te middle of nowhere! So much noise everywhere!
Have not posted here in ages - my T is still raging - sold all my guitar gear beginning this year - played guitar for 19 years
my pain was pretty much gone, till someone spoke very loudly with me now my ears on on fire again and my screeching - cant win
    Hey. How you been?
    Andrei88
I am really glad to hear you are doing okay! Hopefully one day it will be 5 steps forward and 2 back! There is always hope that things will et better, especially for those who dont have hearing damage.
    SamRosemary
Yeah I can't imagine how difficult that must be. Luckily, I don't have much pain.. The odd loud thing causes a bit, but nothing like what I've read some of you go through. Thanks, I try to stay optimistic about recovery or even habituation.
    Andrei88
We should! even for me I have hope hope of improvement and at times things do improve, its just difficult as we cannot control the noise other people make that can trigger us. All the best Sam! Il prob not visit here in a while again, thanks for checking up! appreciate it :)
people without tinnitus don't care about your health
    ThomasF
It's hard for them to empathize. Unless someone has a chronic condition that affects their day to day life the situation doesn't really translate.
    Wrfortiscue
People in general don't care about anything lol but yeah I've learned real fast… "yeah that sucks… anyways"
    Andrei88
if they cannot physically see what's wrong with you they dont care. They can sympathize in the moment when you are in agonizing pain and you feel like you want to die, but 5 mins later they will be slamming doors again and carrying on like always.
