I was hoping for more than "I gagged on my toothbrush and my T was gone"... lol
Recently(like last day or two) my T has shot up for some unknown reason. I haven't done anything different or blasted music for long periods of time. I get a temporary spike on my left side when I look straight...
I'm not 100% sure it was the fluid BUT after the fluid was gone, yes it went down a little bit. It stayed pretty level since November 2017. As of this past month it has finally petered off to a much, much lower level.
Starting my 6th month here. No idea what caused it but still holding out hope it just disappears. I shouldn't HAVE to deal with it and get used to it. It should just leave me alone! lol I'm as healthy as I've ever been so it's stupid to even have this happening.
You need to focus on finding things that calm you down. Stress can definitely make T worse for most people. Don't focus a lot on how loud you think it is. I find it helps me to keep telling myself that "this is just an annoying noise. it doesn't hurt me." It's not like having a lot of pain in...
This is why I've just learned each day to say, "It is what it is.", and move on. You gotta recognize not all days or minutes are going to be "good". If you notice a pattern of the T lessening over time though, even if you still get bad days it'll give you hope that it can improve even further.
Tinnitus is like Stewie on Family Guy. In one episode he's in the car with Lois and she tries to ignore him while he just keeps going, "Mom, mom, mom, mommy, mama, mom, mommy, mommy, mom." lol
I dunno, I guess it depends on what caused your tinnitus. I regularly clean out my ears by letting the warm water rush in and out of my ears when I'm in the shower and haven't had any worsening of my tinnitus.
The one thing that seems to make it "seem" louder without fail is the lack of external noise. The quieter it is the more I can hear/notice it. If I have too much alcohol to drink, the morning after it can be louder, but not always.
I've always kinda had the same suspicion. It's impossible to tell if people who have used these devices had gotten better specifically because of the device or not. Since you can't take two people with similar T and have one use a device and one not we'll never know. Everyone is different and I...
First and foremost my nightly ritual is to drink some Sleepy tea from Bigelow Benefits. It's a chamomile and lavender herbal tea that I drink about an hour, hour and a half before I actually lay down to sleep. It definitely helps knock me out as shortly before I lie down I usually notice myself...
I have 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar with 8 oz of water, two times a day. I’ve been doing that for about 3-4 weeks and so far has seemed to help me pretty well though YMMV. When I go to bed at night I use a Lectrofan machine to play some noise because it gets way too quiet at night. Otherwise my...
I saw The Last Jedi w/ ear plugs in and had no issues at all. So you should be fine. I used these ones:
https://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Fidelity-Earplugs-ETY-Plugs-Standard/dp/B0044DEESS/
TMJ disorder (painful jaw that doesn't open properly and clicks when I open it too far) - I can open my jaw fully w/o issue, no clicks or pain or anything like that.
Feeling of clogged ears, as if they need to pop constantly. - I get this, but pretty rare. Seems to have more to do w/ the cold...
@Equalizer You seem to do nothing but spread negativity and the wish for death. Just because you are miserable does not mean others, with worse T than you have, are miserable as well. People find a way to cope and deal with it, and have it lessened over time. Others experience complete...
Yeah, I mean were you just looking at random stuff in your bathroom and wondering if putting it in your ear would help, or did you read somewhere that this would do something? It just sounds like such a random thing to do, to go from, "Hmm it's not ear wax causing T." to, "Let's put some...
In the case of tinnitus I think the only way aluminum would block the electrical signals is if it was coating your brain, or whatever hair cells are misfiring. This is definitely one of the most out there ideas for dealing with T. I’m not sure I would ever try it myself since I hear a lot about...
Does this still work for you? I honestly see no reason this should do anything. I tried it a couple times(dunno if I did it right) but didn't notice anything change.
I've been doing really well lately, I think in part because I've been taking apple cider vinegar. My T has probably been like 2-3 out of 10 pretty consistently, at worst. Just now though I had THEE loudest flare I've ever had in my life.
I've had the fleeting T here and there throughout my life...
There are even people who have had T for years that eventually had either full resolution or greatly reduced noise level. So the length of time you've had T really doesn't matter much.
Although you're here due to the terrible ailment we all suffer from I will say "Welcome aboard!".
Yes it's possible it will go away. The large factor is TIME. Just be aware it could take much longer for it to resolve or get better even after your cold symptoms resolve completely. I'm not trying...
Not to hijack this thread but there's a more recent ACV thread going over in Success Stories as well(with answers from @.bill and others:

Here's my little update.
I first took the ACV Thursday night(1/11/2018). I noticed immediate results that night. Possibly placebo but I didn't have myself in a positive mindset expecting it to change anything. At best I thought, "We'll give this a month and see how it looks then." So I dunno. I...
I dunno. I get the opposite kinda thing at times. Like anxiety type feeling in my gut but I'm totally mentally calm and try to figure out wtf the uneasiness is for. Some times I can't pin pint anything so dunno why I get that at times.
Each night I drink Sleep Tea from Bigelow about an hour before bed. I make sure there are no super bright lights on and I turn on my Lectrofan sound machine. If I’m using my tablet before bed I turn the brightness all the way down and I sit in bed for a bit just relaxing, playing my tablet...
I'd say I'm stable. The perceived volume definitely changes based on my attention to it, or maybe something I ate, which leads to the "good day/bad day" kind of cycle. Overall the tone is pretty much always the same.
My T always seems to move around when I lay down. It doesn't change tones really but lets say I sleep on my left side(T is in right ear), my T will move to my left usually as if it's a liquid draining from my right into my left. It can also feel like it's centered in my head or simply in both...
I used flonase to get rid of it over the course of about 2 weeks. I'm not sure the fluid was the primary cause but it sure didn't help. My T definitely decreased after the fluid was gone, although I do still have it my good and bad days w/ T. Just par for the course with T I guess.
Anyone else have their tinnitus acting up a bit with all the extreme cold and wind chill in the northeast USA?
Even sitting inside, after the heat turns off, my ears feel a bit chilly. Wearing my winter hat now and tinnitus is acting annoyed in general.. lol
I've been taking sudafed the last 2-3 days as well, but not regularly. I'd only have 2-3 tablets each day. My T does seem quieter but I don't know for sure if it's really just the sudafed doing that.
I've been curious about this sound machine from Mike Petroff since hearing of the CD version in older forum posts, and the website(https://audiobionics.com/products/) seems up to date with product info and such. However, it doesn't seem to be available for purchase anywhere.
I was just...
Is it pretty much a given that you will get used to it, in general? Or do you only have success with that if you use sound enrichment or other things? I guess what I'm asking is, is there such a thing as trying to do too much to get used to it faster? Some times I wonder if I think too much...
Try not to do too much at once otherwise you won't really know what the problem is. I'd start by getting rid of coffee and booze for a week and see if anything changes there. Usually it'll be something like coffee, booze or sugar. I dunno about other food items messing with T. I did a similar...
For me it seems to help a bit as well initially. However by the time I got to bed, a couple hours later it seems to be a bit louder than normal for awhile. I'll need to do more testing *wink wink*
Yeah, I mean my T, I'm sure, isn't the worst but I had no problem listening to the sounds watching it at home. I'm sure there might be some who would have trouble though, even if a little.
As for the movie itself, it was laden with wtf-moments... lol I liked it simply because of that but had...
I'm watching this, this morning (almost half way through) and I couldn't help but think that a lot of people on this forum should probably avoid this movie if they have hyperacusis and/or severe tinnitus.
There are many parts in the movie where JLaw gets sick or disoriented and everything...
The very first time I listened to some pink noise in the 4 kHz range, after I turned it off my T was gone for like 5 seconds. I only listened for a few mins that first time. I haven't had the same thing happen since though so not sure what's up with that.
This has been happening just about every night for the past month at least. My tinnitus is in my right ear but when I go to sleep it seems to "move" through my head, and it'll even move to my left ear completely making my right ear seem fine. Normally when I get outta bed, after a min or two...
I actually stopped chewing gum cause it seemed to make my ears feel full, maybe from making my jaw feel a bit tight? I dunno, but I don't do it anymore.
It's definitely the tea. My nightly ritual is sitting up in bed with my wife before we actually settle in to sleep. I have always played around on my tablet and never nodded off. The tea totally makes me start to nod off though. Even drooled on myself a couple times.... lol
If you haven't already you should really check out Michael Leigh's posts:

TBH you shouldn't expect T to simply go away, especially when it's caused by...
Sleep Tea from Bigelow helps me with sleep every night. I drink it about an hour before bed and then fart around on my tablet and I start to nod off pretty heavily. I definitely didn't do that before taking this tea. I usually have pretty consistent sleep every night as well. Not sure if it'll...
So I feel like I've been doing well with my tinnitus lately. It seemed to spike a bit one week so I had to analyze what I was ingesting. Coffee, sugar, alcohol were my main suspects. After doing some trial and error I think I narrowed it down to sugar and sure enough my spike was nothing...
I had the exact same feeling as you Bill. I remember, specifically, looking at a price chart a few years ago and saying, "Man $400 is a lot for 1 bitcoin. I think I'll pass." and now look at it... lol
Well you had protection on so I don't see why you should be that worried. I doubt the drill noise was loud enough to make -27 dB protection useless. Just try not to stress about what MIGHT happen.
DEFINITELY try to wean off it. Cut pills in halves, quarters and gradually come down. My wife did that and it helped..... but, even then she still had withdrawal symptoms such as her heart racing and trouble sleeping. It'll pass though. It's only temporary but whatever you can do to limit your...
I think the problem people had with it is that it just feels out of place? I mean it's not like there isn't a reason for having it, but I guess people feel like they just stuck the related story line in there just to give a couple characters something to do. Otherwise they would have been...
As with a lot of things I think it depends on the person. Research results or not, in my case it seems coffee makes my T go up.
I started drinking it again after not doing so for awhile and after a couple days my T was much louder. I held off on stopping because of all the "it doesn't effect...
It's a good bet it's related. I had developed fluid in both my ears back in October which is when my T began also. The fluid went away thanks to Flonase but the T stuck around. My T is much quieter than it was though. When I had a hearing test recently the audiologist felt that the T was brought...
Just saw it today. I used Etymotic ETY-Plugs. I pulled one out of my ear at points during the movie just to gauge how loud it really was. I guess it was fine but I felt like it was too much to take for 2.5 hours.
The plugs worked fantastically though! I could still hear everything, even people...
First off I don't have the graph to share with you but I thought it'd be interesting to share my experience/results.
So as you can see from the sidebar I've had T since 10/20/17. Unknown really what the cause was. I have doubts it is noise related as I do not listen to things at high...
