    Meniere's Disease

There are some evidence that meniere's is related to herpes viral. Try doing Dr. Gacek's antiviral regiment supplement with John Ohio's regiment, with extra vitamin C. I am currently trying this for my "atypical" meniere's since all I get is the hearing problems (which went away about 2 days...

Scared — Will I Get Used to This?

You'll prob get used to it soon. Try not to be so anxious. Even if it doesn't go away naturally, there would be treatments soon (you can read about them online). I know it might take years to come, but it's better than being anxious and lose your ability to (sort of) enjoy your life now. I know...

How Do Celebrities Cope with Tinnitus?

Some of us have mild T that is ignorable, like mine. Since mine isn't acoustic trauma induced, I am okay with loud noises as well. But it doesn't mean I can blast music.

How Do Celebrities Cope with Tinnitus?

Ryan Adams has meniere's disease. He has to deal with hearing loss, tinnitus, and vertigo. Anyways, don't fret. A cure or at least a proper treatment will be here someday. My bet it's within 10 years.

    Child w/ Pulsatile Tinnitus?

I think I had Pulsatile Tinnitus when I was younger. It only happens when my heart beat is off the roof, and it sounds like a rumble that beats with my heart. I actually didn't even know it was actually a form of Tinnitus, but as time went by it vanish. I don't know why, but I haven't felt it...

A New Tone Out of Nowhere

Genetic factor plays if your family has a history of hearing problems. Tumor affecting the audio nerves can be determined by MRI. Increasingly fluctuating hearing loss, and with Tinnitus signifies either an auto-immune disease, and if accompanied by vertigo, meniere's syndrome. OFC there is...

A New Tone Out of Nowhere

Do tones just magically appear out of nowhere? If you kept your ears in well condition (no persistent exposure to loud noise), the hair cells shouldn't sustain damage other than from aging. However b.c studies recently point to the brain as the source of T, hormonal changes could add to your new...

This Works: Convince Yourself with Serious Meditation and Chakra Music That You Do Not Have Tinnitus

Self hypnotism. It works if your T is mild. For example if i sit in a silent room, my T fades, well rather it blends into the background which somehow I feel I can hear as well with my left ear (my right ear being the ear with T). But this breaks easy.

SSHL and Tinnitus, Don't Give Up!

Did you have a history of SSHL? This last year I had 3 occassions with SSHL, not profoundly severe in the first 2 occasions. Rather my ears felt full like that on an airplane, and hearing was a bit muffled. I know it's SSHL because when I hum or talk, I felt like my own voice is blocked...

    Meniere's Disease

I don't think caffeine does anything for me since I go at least 300 mg a day. Honestly I only had 3 occasions of sudden hearing loss (along with T) throughout the year, but not one of them were accompanied by vertigo. I used prednisone for all 3 occasions, and I supposed all 3 of them were...

No its just that over this year, I had 3 occassions of sshl with no known cause. While my hearing came back for all 3 of them with the last onr leaving a bit of T (like really little), its a sign I migbt have menieres. Ofc I dont have any vertigo, but I wanna know if I can prevent it from...

Accidentally Turned Up Headphones to Maximum

Also, if you're afraid of this, I think ipods have volume limiters in their settings (my nano does). You can force its maximal volume to be lower so you won't accidentally go over a safe limit.

Accidentally Turned Up Headphones to Maximum

Calm down first, your anxiety could make it seemed like you are hearing it louder than usual. And 2 - 3 seconds at 120 prob won't do anything.

    Meniere's Disease

I'm not sure if I even have this, but having 3 episodes of sudden hearing loss within a year tells me that there is a possibility. Is it possible to prevent meniere's episodes by reducing salt intake to around 2k, and drinking about a gallon of water a day?

Do We Avoid Social Life and Noisy Places Because of Tinnitus?

No, T, and hearing loss is bad enough. Loneliness will add to it. I find hanging out with friends calm me down more so than not.

    Meniere's Disease

@glynis, thanks. But the reason why I think I might menieres or at least the cochlear hydrops variant is because prior to my current condition, I did have episodes of hearing loss on 2 occasions within the year, both which resolved with a few days of heavy prednisone (but this time it didn't)...

    New to Tinnitus

It seems like my tinnitus died down alot again, but hearing is still weird...kinda hurts to hear people talk at times (like it feels like my ear drums move a bit). Didn't do anything particular today, aside from lifting (and i drank alot of caffiene as well due to it). I thought because so I...

    Meniere's Disease

I not sure if I have Meniere's disease or not (I hope not, cuz I drank alot of caffiene today, but my tinnitus didn't get any worse, if not it got quiet), but can you regain hearing if you felt like you loss a bit of it? They say you need hearing loss/tinnitus/vertigo to have menieres but it...

    New to Tinnitus

@Karen, thanks I hope I have a spontaneous recovery, tho it is rare, but the fact i'm unaffected by caffiene (I took ALOT today prob like 500 mg) means I prob don't have something like meniere's disease (not that I had vertigo to begin with). Somewhere inside tho, I kinda hoped I had something...

    New to Tinnitus

@Karen, yeah I feel theside effects already, I had a lifting competition today and I felt so much weaker than usual. @Karen, Thanks for the support. Really appreciated it. However...

    New to Tinnitus

Yeah I had my hearing test, and they said it was "normal" aside from a drop on a certain frequency on my affected ear. New to Tinnitus

Woke up today morning, my hearing came back for the most part, and tinnitus died down...but then as the day went by, hearing loss occurred again, and my tinnitus is back. I don't think this is normal even for a supposed diagnosed SSHL. Do you think perhaps I have some other ear illness?
