Lol. I just told my hubby I want him to write "Into great silence" on my tombstone. It's dark but you have to laugh at the ridiculousness of this condition.Death. Im hoping any country does it as long as they hurry up with a cure!!!!!
I always thought it would be America because of the burden it has on nearly half of there Soldiers who return home from war.
And roughy 50-60 million Americans have it unfortunately.
I was told worldwide it effects roughly 300 million people to some degree
This is my expectation from the pharmaceutical countries. I'd rather have tinnitus than slightly less tinnitus + horrible side effects out the wazoo. I'll wait until they can do some ear regeneration OR they make a drug with minimal to near zero side effects.America isn't in the business of curing any physical malady these days, even for military veterans. There is no profit in curing things, but there's a hell of a lot of money to be made from creating maintenance medication. The best we'll probably get will be a modified benzodiazapine that will dampen the tinnitus for a short period. There will be tinnitus prescription commercials on TV showing a middle-aged woman smiling as she gardens in a flower bed and/or walks on a beach as soft piano music plays in the background. Then, as she happily plays with her lily-white and well-behaved grandchildren, a voice-over will list all the horrible side-effects the new medication causes like diarrhea, seizures, blurred vision, blinding headaches, sporadic episodes of time travel (don't get your hopes up as you never wind up anywhere good), flesh-eating skin rashes, depression, mania and the possibility of pissing oneself unexpectedly. Yay.
Now let's have three cheers for our corporate overlords, but not loud cheers as I don't want to spike my tinnitus.
Ya I agree with you I just thought of the ATA and how common it is in America and the military that they would be pushing for treatment as quick as possibleIt doesn't matter, only that a treatment or better is found somewhere
Everywhere else can be except for Turkey.
Well, to my suprise an ENT in Turkey told one of my friends who is suffering from T today we will have some new treatments (drugs I think) in two years. What do you guys think about it?
I have some theories on this statement
A) My friend is suffering from T so bad that he has suicidal ideas. So, this doctor tried to save him with false hope.
B) This guy with white coat has some secret lab in his house and he will come with new magic drugs for T to prove me wrong.
Everywhere else can be except for Turkey.
I love my country but God! I remember I have read an article which says couple of high school students found a cure for tinnitus with the buzz sounds of bees. A cure with putting some bee buzzing near your ear. Easy!
