Do You Have Earache Along with Your Tinnitus? Just Curious

Yeah paracetamol helps at least. I know it's a risk with ibrupofen so will probably not use it again. Yes I get different frequencies and its the high pitched ones that seem to physically stab into the ear. Not sure if that's the actual case but whatever it's doing its bloody painful. I don't...

I'm hoping the pain might go away over time. I guess there's no guarantee though being realistic.

Do You Have Earache Along with Your Tinnitus? Just Curious

The pain is like sharp needles in the ears. The higher pitched the tinnitus gets the more pain there is. Yes sometimes a dull earache accompanies it but not constantly. I take two 5000mg paracetamol per day and sometimes additional ibrupofen.

Do You Have Earache Along with Your Tinnitus? Just Curious

I have hyperacusis pain in my ears, brain, and upper throat. Inside the brain is worse and pretty scary as well as painful. Besides noise triggering it I found out this morning that sniffing jasmine oil now gives me immediate pain, too. This actually used to calm me down and cause no pain at all...

    Safe Alternative to Valium?

Sorry I'm only just getting back to you morg, I spend periods away from the site. Or at least I did before the recent worsening I experienced. Anyway, I take 5mg valium which Ive now upped to four days per week to cope with tinnitus and my new arrival Hyperacusis. Hyoeracusis is something like...

This is heartbreaking to read. I really am so sorry. She was so young and had everything to live for. The mix of physical and mental pain must have been immense for her to do this xx

Acoustic Trauma: Loud Concert Stabbed My Ear

@1000 I agree with Michael Leigh that an ENT should investigate the cause of the burning ear pain. The main thing is to protect from anymore dangerously loud sounds with ear protection when you're outdoors. Road drills, motorbikes etc, have potential to make you worse at the moment as I know to...

Acoustic Trauma: Loud Concert Stabbed My Ear

It should improve over time as long as you protect your ears when you go outdoors. Use quality ear plugs. Some folks use sound therapy but others say you need silence and time to let them heal. Sometimes the level of my tinnitus drops overnight so I'm hoping they're right. Good luck to you. Keep...

    Do You Still Watch TV?

I'm not able to tolerate the sound on TV or radio now. I used to love music! If I attempt to 'be strong and play a few of my rock songs on YouTube it gets to a point where my brain seems to start deciphering the sound wrong, and at that point I start feeling a growing sense of unease to the...

    The Toll of Tinnitus

Thanks Michael for taking the time to reply. It's helpful to know that someone has gone through the hell I'm now going through and come out the other side stronger. My doctor has begun the process of getting me an ENT appointment at Sheffield so I will ask about TRT when I'm there. I've been...

    The Toll of Tinnitus

I had mild tinnitus which I could cope with until February last year when I was foolish enough to go to a gig without ear protection. It was a small venue and very loud... how I wish now I had walked out straight away! I suffered acoustic shock and high pitched hearing loss. Things have grown...

    Hyperacusis Advice Please...

I am in a very bad way I'm afraid. I'm now getting very bad reactive high pitched tinnitus in my left ear after an acoustic shock with NHS hearing aids which I had fully turned up when I turned the TV and the TV volume was on very high too. Anyway I think my problem could be a form of...

Do You Hear Tinnitus Clearly Over the TV?

Many thanks, Micheal. Iwill certainly look into that. I'm finding the sound that causes less reaction (or hyperacusis) at night to sleep by is birdsong funnily enough.

Do You Hear Tinnitus Clearly Over the TV?

I have reactive T that distorts the sound of the TV and amplifies it. Sometimes I just give up or use subtitles. What did we all do to deserve this living Hell?!

Tinnitus Is Getting Quieter in the Morning

Yes I've started with hyperacusis since March this year too. I used to be able to mask the T before then using an mp3 player and various sounds so I could get through life, but now it's too painful. I can still use the mp3 player if I play it softly through a pillow speaker that's not too near...

Tinnitus Is Getting Quieter in the Morning

I'm sorry, I meant my tinnitus turned chronic from March this year (as in this year 2016). It was managable till then. I didn't actually know chronic meant permanent... dear God I do hope not. I hope at least it will improve, as it's destroying my life. It's impossible to got into places with...

Sounds Create Tones in My Ears

    Hello Fellow Tinnitus People

Hello Kalle, welcome to Tinnitus Talk! Going to psychotherapy is a good thing to do, you need to get as much help as you can, and anything that can relax the nerves is good. A big part of lowering the volume of tinnitus depends on calming the central nervous system. I know what you mean...

Tinnitus Is Getting Quieter in the Morning

I'm experiencing something similar this week. I've had manageable tinnitus since 1995, but it turned chronic gradually from March this year, but this week it's fluctulating all the time... sometimes loud and sometimes going down very low. My tinnitus is reactive however, so even things like the...

    Safe Alternative to Valium?

Thanks linearb, what you say makes good sense to me. It's just the thought of what I'm going to be like when I don't have those 3 Valium to help me that scares me, as at times recently I was close to going under... I'd basically stopped eating and drinking until the doctor put me on Valium and...

    Safe Alternative to Valium?

Hi there, I'm pretty new to Tinnitus Talk. My tinnitus spread to both ears and went crazy and chronic this year, it could have been caused by coming off paroxetine after I'd been on it since 1995. The only thing keeping me just about sane and alive is valium, but I'm only allowed a limited...

    Tinnitus Reduced by Mirtazapine (Remeron)

You were right, Marlino. The doctor put me up to 30mg mirtazapin and it's caused a major spike... have gone back down to 15mg and might try to keep on it as my depression is a bit better (today anyway).

    Tinnitus Reduced by Mirtazapine (Remeron)

I've been taking Mirtazapine 15 mg for two weeks now. My doctor prescribed them when I was in a very bad state, feeling suicidal from constant high pitched tinnitus. So far they make me sleep like a log most nights, and also eat like a horse. The jury is still out about it helping with tinnitus...
