Trying to Cope with Tinnitus and TTTS After Flying: Is Anxiety Making It Worse?

I am not sure if it is related to the flight—maybe the pressure buildup and popping caused something. I have had a similar experience before, but it was much worse than just tinnitus. After being blocked for five days straight, once it finally unblocked, I experienced intense reactive sounds and...

Blocked Ear Feeling When Lying Down

Blocked Ear Feeling When Lying Down

Over the last few days, my ears have been feeling “blocked,” especially my left ear, which has a smaller canal. My right ear also feels blocked at times, but it tends to clear after I sit up for a few minutes. I am scheduled for an ear cleaning next week, so this might just be due to wax...

Tinnitus from Singing in Metal Band

It’s tough, mate. Unfortunately, some of us are just genetically unlucky, while others may never experience it. Remember, when it comes to your health, never listen to others over what feels right for you. Since it’s noise-induced, it should settle down in a few weeks. Keep some white noise...

I Can Make My Ears Click Whenever I Want — My Tinnitus Is Now Unbearable

I can make my ears click too. It’s similar to doing the Valsalva maneuver without having to pinch my nose. When I first got tinnitus, I was doing it a lot to try to relieve the pressure feeling. Of course, it didn’t help, but I developed the habit of making my ears click. I realized I needed...

Desperate Cry for Help: Severe Tinnitus After Going to Bar with Loud Music

Definitely not; it can take a significant amount of time. For me, it took around three months before I noticed any improvement, as I kept active and busy. After about a year, it became manageable, and most of the time, I barely noticed it. I know it’s really hard, but you have to stay strong...

I Can Control My Tensor Tympani Muscle on Command

It’s difficult to explain, but it’s similar to doing the Valsalva maneuver without having to pinch my nose. I can flex my ears to temporarily open the tubes. However, this doesn't help when I experience TTS fluttering or other symptoms—I can't stop the spasms.

Does the Absence of Ear Symptoms Guarantee No Damage Was Done from a Loud Noise?

If you have no immediate symptoms, I would take it as a good sign. Anxiety about it will likely cause a spike and make you spiral. Try not to worry until there is some evidence of it, if that makes sense.

Mild Tinnitus for Eight Years, Worsened by Going to a Club without Earplugs

Sometimes, we get caught up in the moment of fun and enjoying ourselves. But it can be a grave mistake. Ten weeks is a LONG spike; in my opinion, it could be an increase. But when I first got tinnitus, it was very loud, and now it is “mild” the majority of the time. You can look forward to that...

Boyfriend & I Got Tinnitus After Two Concerts → His Tinnitus Went Away, Mine Did Not

Now, my 2 cents. Reduce all loud volume and exposure. A great way to do this is if you have an Apple Watch, it can monitor your environment. This is what I do. You can set limits, so if it’s getting loud, you can leave or use earplugs. DO NOT overuse your earplugs. For situations under 60 dB...

It is very risky even with plugs in my opinion. Some concerts can be 120db plus. Db is LOUD even with plugs at that level because the higher you go the less you get a reduction with plugs. At 150db for example, you don’t get 25db reduction with 25db plugs

Tinnitus Worse After Going to a Concert without Earplugs, COVID-19, Earwax, ETD

It depends on whether it’s indoors or outdoors, how far you are from speakers, and how loud the crowd is. I would say the outdoor festival type is OK because you can move away if it is too loud. I haven’t risked any concerts since, unfortunately, it just isn’t worth it. This is true, but you...

Tinnitus won't, but lack of sleep from it will. I've experienced a few psychotic episodes myself from lack of sleep. It's a known fact that severe insomnia will affect you and the way you think and cope with things. Even if you sleep 3-4 hours a night for a few weeks, you will be suffering.
