Will You Get Vaccinated for Coronavirus (COVID-19)? Can It Make Tinnitus or Hyperacusis Worse?

I've been struggling with hearing and balance issues ever since coming off Zoloft. I’ve had basically every symptom on the vaccine side effect list (ear fullness, muffled hearing/loss, multi-tone tinnitus, and multiple bouts of wooziness/off balance plus one episode of vertigo back in 2017). I...

Normal Volume Music Sounds Loud, Not Sensitive to Everyday Sounds — Is This Hyperacusis?

My ears are pretty clear of wax. I have tinnitus, which began after I had been on Zoloft for 5 years at full dose, and stopped taking it for a few months (in 2016), but went back on a full dose again, added Remeron. A few months later tinnitus started in response to coffee and cigarettes, and...

Normal Volume Music Sounds Loud, Not Sensitive to Everyday Sounds — Is This Hyperacusis?

Normal volume music in my car and sound on my laptop sounds loud. I had ear pain as well for a couple days but has since subsided. I am not sensitive to everyday sounds, however. Am I developing hyperacusis?

Hyperacusis Just Started — Could I Be Sensitive to Serotonin?

I should note I added 22.5 mg Remeron after going back on Zoloft in 2016. Not sure whether its the Zoloft or Remeron which is the culprit.

Hyperacusis Just Started — Could I Be Sensitive to Serotonin?

I started having ear pain and sensitivity to normal volume music (in my car). It's greater on higher pitched sounds. Do SSRIs cause hyperacusis? I had been on Zoloft for 5 years at full dose, and stopped taking it for a few months (in 2016), but went back on a full dose again. A few months...

Tinnitus Just Ruined Music for Me — Hearing Beeps and Tones Over My Music

My tinnitus began as a simple ringing, then added a dozen or so odd tones, sounds, and distortions (amplified by background noise) over the last 2 years that haven't gone away. Now I hear them over music, which has ruined music for me. I'm having a hard time accepting the loss and it's harder...

Tinnitus Just Ruined Music for Me — Hearing Beeps and Tones Over My Music

I'm pretty sure it is, when it began and every time it got worse I had had either caffeine, cigarettes, or alcohol the day before. When I stopped all substances for a year and a half it never added a new sound, but when I picked up caffeine and alcohol again in Jan this year, it added crickets...

Tinnitus Just Ruined Music for Me — Hearing Beeps and Tones Over My Music

I've heard tones and stuff in the presence of background noise for a while now but only now did I start hearing it over music. I'm becoming super depressed over this. It's my fault, every time I used caffeine or alcohol after a while my T added a new sound, I still kept going, using as little...

Tinnitus Just Ruined Music for Me — Hearing Beeps and Tones Over My Music

I should add it varies from song to song, and is mostly over the ambient parts, with beeping just one of the worst ones, and reverberating tones a more common one.

Tinnitus Just Ruined Music for Me — Hearing Beeps and Tones Over My Music

I just started hearing all sorts of tones and beeping over my music. It distracts completely from the music. Anyone else have music ruined for them and how did you learn to enjoy music again?

Is Medication Induced Tinnitus a Brain or Ear Problem?

I have a follow up question: if the brain rewires itself, will fixing the ear damage 'fix' the brain rewiring?

Is Medication Induced Tinnitus a Brain or Ear Problem?

I have tinnitus from screwing around with various ototoxic psychiatric drugs (Zoloft and Remeron). I started hearing beeping over my music and it just devastates me. I was wondering if anyone knew if medication induced tinnitus is damage to the brain or ears (or both) and how it differs from...

    Crickets/Frogs Tinnitus Sound Just Started

does tinnitus fluctuate though on its own?

My Tinnitus Keeps Worsening and I'm Not Sure Why

I don't have depression and the meds aren't necessary...I just want to know if my theory sounds plausible and whether the meds are actively making things worse. I spoke with a specialist and he said tinnitus doesn't get worse on its own...so there must be something that is making it worse.

My Tinnitus Keeps Worsening and I'm Not Sure Why

I believe that I acquired tinnitus as a result of going off my SSRI (zoloft) in late 2016. It didn't occur until a few months later when I was drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. I had also reinstated my zoloft after 2 months of being off it completely. I believe going off it...

Suicidal Random Beeping — Can't Sleep

I've tried an air filter and I still get tones, just higher pitch. Brown noise seemed to work, but it doesn't relax me like a fan. Apps with rain and rivers aren't constant and have repetitive parts that annoy me. I put on the fan last and the beeping subsided long enough for me to get 5-6...

Suicidal Random Beeping — Can't Sleep

Had T for a month. Could sleep with a fan. Woke up yesterday and had a morse code random beeping that made it impossible to fall asleep. Beeping is fan induced. But I need a fan to mask the T. I am considering ending it. Please advise.
