Had T for a month. Could sleep with a fan. Woke up yesterday and had a morse code random beeping that made it impossible to fall asleep. Beeping is fan induced. But I need a fan to mask the T. I am considering ending it. Please advise.

I've tried an air filter and I still get tones, just higher pitch. Brown noise seemed to work, but it doesn't relax me like a fan. Apps with rain and rivers aren't constant and have repetitive parts that annoy me.

I put on the fan last and the beeping subsided long enough for me to get 5-6 hours sleep, then it returned in the morning.

Look into carbamazepine. It sometimes works with Morse code or "typewriter" tinnitus.

@ramza97

Also look into benzos - especially clonazepam and diazepam. Tons of issues such as dependency, but if you are at the end of your rope could be worth considering. Guidelines from Harvard Medical School at this link you can print out and give to your doctor.

Hi @ramza97 , how are you doing now. I recently developed this beeping tinnitus and I'm also at the end of my rope. Did this go away or were you able to habituate to it? All the best

My beep went away, took a while tho!

Go buy a large indoor fountain for your room. It can help.

Thank you for your encouraging words. I've had this happen very faint in the past for very brief periods of time. But last Saturday I went to a night club, which I normally never do, with many friends and stayed for about an hour. Since this wasn't a planned visit but rather a spur of the moment of the group I didn't have my ear plugs with me. Now the morse code beeping feels very permanent. Makes my high pitched single tone tinnitus not look as bad.

It WILL get either way better by either it healing completely or by habituation. If you have sleep problems download the rain app to mask the sounds and/or perhaps sleeping pills. You've had T for only a month, what is the cause of your T do you think?

Next time don't go. No justifications. Not worth it. Hopefully it will go down or go away. Protect your ears, my friend.
You're absolutely right, I had drunk a substantial amount of beer which I rarely to never do. I hope I won't pay too big of a price for my mistake. Wednesday I'm seeing my audiologist.
