Perception making it less worse is saying like you can still stand on a broken leg because your leg is still attached to your body. It's nonsense, I'm sitting here now and I'm trying to make my T go away but it won't. It'll keep coming back, well let me rephrase that: it never goes away. My...
There's a few things that always comfort me during T.
- We're not going through this alone.
- There's probably someone else in this world who has worse T than me.
- I still have moments where I can laugh and enjoy even though it is not silence anymore.
- I have seen a lot of awareness and there...
I had the same feeling even though I have T not that long as you. If a normal sound irritates you then you might have H. I got rid of it by opening my window at night. Before I did this even a passing car in the street could irritate my ears, made me stress out and eventually I got a new sound...
I might have not been so active on this forum but you all and Tinnitus are still on my mind. Even though my high pitched T is still screaming and I lost my anxiety to it the last time I posted here (29 of august). That time my low pitched hum was still blazing.
But, since its start in the mid...
What I've read over the past couple of months is that use of oxotoxic medication can result into T. The risk is higher for long-term than short-term and logically short-term use has a better chance of healing than long-term use. So like the rest of the people that come here: we can't say if it...
Also make sure you eat well, green food carry a lot of anti-oxidants that help recovery. So stock up on vegetables and fruit.
In the meantime, stress is difficult but it should sort out eventually. I'm in this for 5 months now and I'm learning to live with it even though I miss the sound of...
I've read somewhere that the hearing of mammals is much more sophisticated than of birds. Our range is better, their hearing is still underdeveloped and thus easier to fix.
Yes I too have multiple tones, I can hear 7 of them clearly. They range from 6-8khz while one is a really low drone sound of 50hz. Luckily I'm Tinnitus stress free now but I still hope for some improvements because I've had none to this day. The low drone sound had some improvements last week...
Hi John,
Sadly magnesium did not influence my Tinnitus. But it does help against stress because that uses up magnesium rapidly and it helped my bowel movements even though most people report the exact opposite.
I took 200 mg before going to bed. It's cheap and it won't hurt you so it's always...
Generally speaking you put sound close to your ears so its the same like using a headphone to play white noise at low volume level, not the exact same because headphones are realy direct but still it's pretty close to your ears. It's better to lay that pillow at your feet and set the volume a...
Ok well cupping his hands over your ears is just something else. Ear perforation normally only occurs with 140 db or more.
Since you only have a single noise trauma you can still get some improvement if you protect your ears, don't over protect them though. Using the phone is like a headphone...
@Michael Leigh
If I may ask Michael, I have read your topics but do not recall about you hearing complete silence for some (hopefully not scarse) moments, when did you get these moments and how long do they last? I'm just curious.
JoyBenz and Melike do seem to have a pattern though and it's not...
The thing is that people don't know and not a lot of them ever will, let alone a corrupt Mexico. That dude is a douche but he probably wasn't thinking "let's give this guy tinnitus". I once had someone whistle with both fingers next to my ears during a football match, my ear was ringing but it...
Have you tried giving your ears a good rest?
Otherwise I have read about stories that it could be stress related. Because it varies way too much for anything else.
If it is noise damage then headsets or anything with headphones can be the cause of your T and the worsening of it. A callcenter is not the place to be for someone with Tinnitus.
When I came here I wanted to hear that I would get better but nobody knows. We can only protect our ears, hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Staying away from this forum is sometimes the best thing to do to remove your focus from the T but nobody here is trying to get you down, we're...
I hear my T everywhere except in the shower but I meditate without any extra's. So it is me and my noise. The trick is that you must think of nothing. Relax your muscles and don't listen to it. You just hear it. Focus on your breathing and listen to your heartbeat.
Sorry if I sounded too direct Sandra because it was not my intention. Everyone here has T and nobody likes it. I myself have 4 high tones which all oscilate and one pulsating 50 hertz low tone which is driving me insane from time to time. But there are also people who have T that is so loud that...
If you fall into a major depression if you can't go to a festival with loud noise that could harm your ears especially since you have it for 2 months tops then you need to set your priorities straight. I'm not saying you can't go to the festival but killing yourself because you can't go is way...
Well a lot of things change with time, people believed that the earth was flat, people believed that cancer couldn't be cured, the list goes on. We never know for sure, but what we do know is that there is little research on cures right now other than hocus pocus. So every little bit of research...
Well the thing is imo, earplugs protect your ears but only for so much. Loudness and duration combined determine the strain it put on our ears. Festivals are loud and last long so it doesn't come without risks because we have special ears now.
One comforting fact is that technology grows exponentialy. The downside is that T is rather complex but Elon Musk is entering the health business and that guy has spending power. T has a lot of crossover brainwaves with Parkinsons which Musk wants to fight, unfortunately mr T isn't on the...
I agree with Bill, I see some of your posts and it looks like healing to me.
What I would do to awake in silence (probably stay in bed all day). But I understand it must be very fustrating when the T starts up again during the day. Still I'd see this as something positive if I were you.;)
I don't understand the hate. Let him/her believe if they want to. It's great to see someone here recovering from this condition and posting what helped that person.
Plus anti inflammatory food is pretty smart if you ask me. I'll look into that nike as I sometimes experience short bursts of...
Sounds like H? Open a window at night or use nature sounds on a very low settings. Nature sounds have more lows in db compared to white noise or crickets etc. Therefor I personally think it is great against H. My hearing is less sensitive now after 4 weeks of sound enrichement at night.
I don't like masking it even when the volume is lower than my T. It always bums me out whenever the masking stops. Unfortunately I have multiple oscilating high tones where each ear has different sounds plus a low 50hz buzz in my right ear so my attention is often drawn to it automatically...
I'm willing to try this but I'm hesitating. Next to normal T I have a low buzzing T in my right ear. I can't pinpoint the cause but it could be vesicular or a vain. Is it safe for me to try Gingko?
I've been trying magnesium for 2 weeks now. I'm not noticing any difference with my ears but I have less problems with twitching muscles, less anxiety and my bowel movement has improved so that is nice.
Is this a safe magnesium pill? Just checking to be sure.
Contains: Magnesium (elemental), Cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, stearic acid, magnesium stearate (vegetable source), hypromellose.
I'm sorry to hear your story but I hope you see some light here. Stress is really difficult to cope with when you have the sound especially in your case. I have it for 11 weeks now and after a major setback I am now anxiety free (for 3 days now so I got to keep it that way). But still that...
Thanks @Greg Sacramento recently I found out myself that putting my tongue up in sleep releases jaw tension. I'll try to sleep on my side more but I often end up on my stomach that way.
@Luke Young My TMJ originated from belly sleeping plus clenching. The jaw goes out of place when sleeping on...
Well yeah with referring I meant quoting/talking to. I'm not a native speaker myself (which you probably already noticed). But seeing him swearing while quoting you makes me smile because of your inevitable reply, which you delivered eventually.;)
Got to enjoy the little things in life right?
Haha I loled at you using the F word and refering to Michael.:D
Good to hear that you had some better days. Let's hope that it is your recovery (I think it is). Did it just happen out of nowhere or is it getting gradually better by the month?
Concerts bring a certain risk and it is up to you but I won't be going to them anymore.
I also don't think it is smart to blast music in the car for example or using power tools. Stuff like that.
How have you been living lately? No tv? No conversations? Don't you have H?
Stress is a pain because you don't want to do it but it happens anyways and that is frustrating. Getting off stress is difficult but it doesn't come naturally, I thought it would but you got to work for it. I often searched for distractions but I was also running away from the fear which made it...
If it is from noise please stay away from that guitar at for a while and if you must: use earplugs! @Mark G
Also drink lots of water and eat lots of fruit for recovery.
My positivity of today is that my ears were screeching like there was no tomorrow the entire day. Luckily they calmed down...
I have read a story about someone with the same, she went to a good acupunturist and eventually it was gone. I don't know if that will be the same for you but it might be worth a shot.
I'm sorry to hear it light rain. I have stressed a lot too untill yesterday but ventilating it did the trick for me. I don't know if it will help for you. But writing down my issues and fears with pen on paper made me break down but also I was rid of my thoughts that were suffocating me.
I'm...
My guess is as good as any. As determing where it comes from drives you mad and only results in feeling guilty.
But seeing you had an object in your ears plus pain and swollenness it seems like an inflamation that causes it. Tmj also causes small inflamations and stress overall weakens your...
Some people notice a change in T due to excercise which involves stomping your feet, the movement causes your body to shake and eventually that goes to your ears. Jumping Jacks might be to explosive for you now. Why don't you try a different excercise and see if you still have the click?
Personally btw, I do "avoid" loud noises for a while since I'm in my acute phase. But I'm also looking at not getting to sensitive to H. And if I don't feel comfortable then I don't enjoy it. I went to my gym once and I didn't feel comfortable around the speakers so I quit my gym and started...
Protecting your ears is not a wrong thing to do. Especially in the initial phase. But protecting them too much could lead to H which lowers your threshold and then even not so loud sound can worsen your T. At least that's what I read here on the site.
Maybe the best thing to look at are the...
I haven't found this thread myself but I got the exact same hum. Came to me after using earplugs. It varies from unnoticable and it builds up randomly and it has spiked 2 times. It also disappears when I plug my ears and it goes away outside. Then when I'm inside it comes back after 5-15...
Welcome to the forum. New sounds are annoying and discouraging. But you are not alone in this.
Look out with music and noise. I would evade loud noises for a while.
@billie48
I might've stressed too much about my T. What kind of stress are we talking about? I've passed my anxiety and I sleep...
It is very annoying indeed, my comes and goes to but only stays away for an hour or so. Later on it builds up until I can hear it under a tv or water faucet. I hope that I'll get used to it.
Have they ruled out TTS muscle spams? A disfunctioning Eustachian tube could cause it. Or would that be...
Thanks for this post. I was going to buy magnesium tomorrow, didn't know that there were different kinds of magnesium. I did a little research, the glycinate/lysinate chelate is known for best absorption and it works better than regular magnesium. Good to know. I found relatively cheap ones...
I'm going to the dentist in 2 days. I already crushed a mouth guard and my jaw clicks and pops. He'll help me for sure, but I hope that he has that double mouth guard plus that extra thing that keeps your jaw open on purpose. This way at least I'll be able to save my teeth and hopefully it'll...
