SciFluor Receives US Patent for KCNQ2/3 Activator to Treat Epilepsy and Neurological Disorders

I know perhaps this has all ready been discussed on TT, but I have just read this and thought it might be useful to post it here. A few weeks after I first got tinnitus, I spoke to a hospital doctor and told her that it felt like a kind of 'auditory' epilepsy, but I think she misunderstood...

Can You Create Your Own Tinnitus?

This is very interesting. If the brain is able to consciously detect tinnitus, maybe it can eventually reverse and learn to 'not detect' it. Let's hope every one of us can achieve this. Best wishes everyone.

Stone Cold Deaf Beyond 10 kHz

I've tried the hearing tests posted on YouTube, I can hear up to 14 KHz. 15 KHz with the volume increased, 16 and 17 KHz I could hear a distorted sort of buzz. I noticed on one test, that advises you to plug each ear to listen with both the right and left ear independently, that my left ear...

Results From ENT, Feeling Really Down

Hi, I'm from Lancashire UK too. I had an MRI scan of the IAM (internal auditory meatus - i.e. ears on the inside) last August on the NHS. I must have got myself stressed about it because my tinnitus was spiking loud on the day. I do not know how old the scanner was, but I think it was an...

Audiogram and Other Hearing Test Results

I must add, one of the audiograms was carried out at a private tinnitus clinic (hearing test up to 8khz). They also actually tried to determine the frequency of my tinnitus, for which they had the equipment, and told me my tinnitus was about 10 kHz, although I said I could hear two different...

Audiogram and Other Hearing Test Results

I have had three hearing tests, including a bone conduction test. They were all up to 8 kHz and I was informed each time that my hearing was within the normal range and that I did not need a hearing aid. I asked why the higher frequencies were not tested and was told that equipment to do this...

Hi Amandine, I hope you are doing ok, your life sounds rather hectic at the moment. I'm not sure about TRT really and the problem is that Jacqui Sheldrake is in London and I am in the North of England and the good practitioners are few and far between. I think TRT is similar to Julian Cowan...

It Wasn't TMJ, It Was Just a Misaligned Jaw!

It Wasn't TMJ, It Was Just a Misaligned Jaw!

My jaw clicks on the right hand side when I open my mouth and when I clench my jaw I get a'ching' sound that corresponds to it. My general practitioner did not seem interested in this in relation to my tinnitus and only in psychological treatment. I am going to look into this further. Thanks...

    The Noise That Kills

I had a telephone consultation with Jacqui Sheldrake. She told me that the aim was to put the tinnitus back to where it was before I heard it. She said everyone has a tinnitus sound. She told me that she would hear it also if she listened for it, but that she doesn't. It did give me hope...

Who Has Normal Hearing Tests and Tinnitus?

I have had two normal hearing tests up to 8 kHz and a normal bone conduction test too. I have multiple toned tinnitus, some tones of which I think are of a higher frequency than 8 kHz, plus I get the hissing, buzzing sounds, especially noticeable at night.

    Is Magnesium Citrate Neurotoxic?

Hi MattK, I think perhaps that whilst the body produces citrate, this is a natural process that the body has evolved with and the level of citrate produced is vital to its functioning, without causing any adverse effects. However, when it is introduced via an unnatural route in an unnatural...

    Is Magnesium Citrate Neurotoxic?

I personally prefer to go down the natural route. Some foods are naturally high in magnesium, e.g. walnuts and bananas, so I eat about four walnuts and one banana a day. I did buy a tub of magnesium tablets, but when I read the ingredients I decided to give them a swerve! I've come to the...
