Hope can be fleeting, and isn’t realistic. And I suffered as much as anybody for two years. You have to help yourself. Nobody is going to do it for you.

I was one of the complainers at first, and people steered clear of me. It took me a short time to realize that wasn’t the answer, so I changed my ways.

@Julien87: What you say is true. If you keep it together when telling people your condition, then it is cool. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case with most individuals, as evidenced on this forum.

Uniformed people come in all ages. But we must realize we have a rare form of tinnitus, not known to the masses. I also think most of the 10 percenters had other issues before they contracted T. That is why we suffer as we do. We must work on these problems, as well as tinnitus.

If you tell people you are suffering and such, you will scare them off. Nobody wants to hear that shit. Most tire of the constant complaining, bellyaching, and crying. That includes family members.

I never heard of mild tinnitus. The levels of T as I understand it are; moderate, moderately severe, severe, and profound.

@Marlino: Go back to the remeron, since it worked for you. Forget about ami, it is a harsh medication.

I talked about it at first, but the people I encountered with tinnitus, acclimated in short order. They coundn’t understand my dilemma. I never knew anybody with severe or profound tinnitus, until I joined TT.

If you take benzo’s and mirtazapine, you will fall down eventually. That is one of the side effects of combining these drugs. You might break a hip-lol.

I think most of us, (the 10 percenters) bring some kind of baggage with us when we contract tinnitus. That is why a lot of us suffer as we do. For me I have had trouble sleeping for 5 or so years. That is one of the worst case scenarios for someone with T. I didn’t sleep much for 2 years...

@lifeisover: Well that is too high a dose to begin with. And he should have spread it out for a longer period of time. And like RicoS said, stop taking it, and you will be fine.

This Jack Vernon has been burning people since 1971. It sounds like a cult. If you go to one of their meetings, they will block the door...

@Christophe_85: Try wax ear protection. They come in a pack of about 8 or 9. Follow the directions, and you will be amazed at the results. I swim, and that is what I use. They are also great for blocking out noise. I use them at night to block out my wife’s snoring. Lol

When I exercise, I feel sense of accomplishment, knowing that I’m do something for healthy myself. As far as spikes, I haven’t noticed any.

He was a musician, so there is a good chance he had tinnitus and hearing loss. And they were heavy metal. Pete Townsend of the Who is mostly deaf. A lot of them were ear protection these days.
