I asked them, about a year back, and had a pretty quick answer. It was a simple answer in which they indicate that tinnitus is a valid condition. You can still contact them and ask, I guess nothing has changed since. Age may be an important factor though. I still have the email response but...

I can't say for hearing loss, my last audiogram was a year ago. I have and always have had a lot of fleeting tinnitus though, especially with air pressure changes (weather related). I, sometimes, have multiple fleeting tinnitus episodes in an hour, even prior to my tinnitus worsening a year ago...

Windy weather today and my ears are going nuts. Worse tinnitus and countless fleeting tinnitus... Waiting for clouds to bring me peace.

I highly suspect that ETD plays some role in my tinnitus. I recently found that steam inhalation will soothe my symptoms a bit. Warm drinks and hot baths, again with lot of steam, also helps.

A co-worker of mine has a pretty loud "hiss" in both ears for some years (she says she can hear it over everything) : it has absolutely no effect on her life. She admits the onset was kinda harsh though.

At this moment, and since the onset, weather is the one and only thing that changes my tinnitus level. I'm pretty sure that air pressure has some kind of effect on my ears. Call me "weather guy" : when fleeting tinnitus comes then weather is about to change in the next hours. ;)
