Excellent news. I have had the mouth guard for about 4 months and I am worse. I clearly have TMJ because my mouth is having a hard time opening and my tinnitus/hyperacusis/reactive tinnitus is all bad when my mouth hurts. I am trying a Botox treatment this coming Monday, fingers crossed.

Jaw Clicking, Headaches, Tinnitus & Hyperacusis: Diagnosed with TMD — Will Treating TMJ Help Me?

So after seeing 3 ENTs, a pain specialist, a neurologist, a general practitioner, and several nurse practitioners - the jaw/dentist specialist diagnosed me with TMD or TMJ as everyone calls it. I have all the symptoms and I grind like crazy. Jaw clicking, headaches and of course the hell that...

    Can You Habituate to Hyperacusis?

From what I have learned from my visits to ear specialists is that if you can correct what is causing Hyperacusis it will go away. So for me I have a triple fusion in my neck and I have been super tense due to my sisters health, covid, work stressors and the rest of the mélange of life along...

Eardrum Scarring: Can Anyone Tell Me More About It?

I saw an NP (nurse practitioner) at a walk-in clinic after seeing an ENT. The ENT said there was nothing wrong with my ears and "meditate, stay calm" (I think we've all been there.) My tinnitus got worse and than moved to my right ear and is now intolerable and very painful. Every time a fan...

Doctor Prescribed Augmentin, Prednisone, and Scopolamine: Can These Help My 2-Month-Old Tinnitus?

They don't know what is wrong, they can't "see" anything when they look in my ear. I feel like I am being electrocuted from my ear down to my neck. What my doctor is trying to treat is possible tooth infection causing it, so he's just trying this to see if it helps.

Doctor Prescribed Augmentin, Prednisone, and Scopolamine: Can These Help My 2-Month-Old Tinnitus?

I have had tinnitus for about 2 months and the last week has been unbearable. It feels like electric pulses coursing through the base of my skull. It's not just loud, it's a whole other physical sensation, like a nerve is being struck. On top of that it's a high pitched cricket sound. Now my...

    Naltrexone as a Tinnitus Treatment

I am on low-dose Naltrexone. Day 5 currently. The idea here is to titrate up to 4.5mg daily as a maximum. This is meant to help battle any auto-immune issues if that is in fact the cause of my problems. I have neuropathy pain as well and that is the original reason for the Naltrexone.

Top Treatments to Consider in the Early Days After Onset

Same, neither have done anything. I did have one day that I felt a little better but it was just for part of the day - I wonder what it was that helped so much, probably not those meds, haha. I wonder what CBD oils work best

Flare Audio Calmer — Does It Help Tinnitus?

I have them. It's one of the first things i tried. It didn't work for my tinnitus. They do what they are supposed to though, it's not a scam as far as I can tell. They are just little soft dealies that you stick in your ear. It kinda trims some of the noise out of life but not the tinnitus in...

I Work with Audio for a Living — WTF Are These Crickets Doing in My Head!?

Thank you for your responses everyone, i feel very welcomed here. When I first wake up and am laying in bed, it just the standard ringing for me with no crickets/cicadas/chirping. Basically Cured with Psilocybin

Honestly if shrooms help with tinnitus than I imagine it's a stress factor that is causing it or making it worse. I have a hard time believing that stress causes this god awful condition but I don't know much about much. I have done shrooms a good number of times and always had a good trip but I...
