Excess Vitamin D3 could have caused ear bones to grow (calcification?).
Did audiologist take X-rays and show the growth? How are they planning remove the excess growth?
@JamesAtMvertigo, interesting article.
Could you explain how you feel Eustachian tube stickiness? Quite a few folks have crackle sounds in ear due to ETD. Do you feel any liquid trickling / tickling in ears?
By eating few hours before sleep you can avoid acid reflux. Also avoid midnight...
Noise-induced tinnitus -> the vaccines have no effect on the tinnitus.
Others -> esp. ETD-induced tinnitus -> the vaccines aggravate the tinnitus.
Any thoughts?
@Nick116, how do you suspect you caught COVID-19?
Oscar got tinnitus because of COVID-19. You had tinnitus before COVID-19 and it spiked your tinnitus. Chances are yours might go to baseline faster.
Very much possible. Some folks even getting COVID-19 vaccinations develop middle ear fluid and get tinnitus.
If your tinnitus is fluctuating, there is good chance it will reduce.
There are great chances that your tinnitus will subside. Physicians consider three months as chronic tinnitus.
Do you suspect you got tinnitus due to the COVID-19 vaccine or the COVID-19 infection?
Did your wife have the COVID-19 vaccination, before or after the infection? If she has different...
Folks, are floaters there in both eyes or only the side where tinnitus is? Recently I see them on side where my tinnitus is. Any chance some somatic issue causes both on the same side?
When does the transient hearing loss occur? Did you get the 20 dB hearing loss diagnosis at ENT?
Earwax impaction moving around in the ear can cause transient hearing issues.
ETD can get diagnosed using the camera that an ENT will put through the nasal passages... otherwise they do a Valsalva test. Without either of these, they cannot conclude anything about ETD.
Any thoughts?
Any reference for the ear suction method?
Think only one day at a time. Things could change. Habituation can happen. All of us make mistakes. Learn and then avoid further mistakes. Mask your tinnitus till you are feeling better.
@Philip83 - question to get advice. Actual sound decibel versus perceived loudness - hyperacusis sufferers will hear sound louder than what decibel it actually is.
Can 70 decibel noise hurt hyperacusis sufferers (causing inner ear hair cell issues) while it does not hurt normal ears?
Also...
Fleeting tinnitus is reported by lot of folks here. It's attributed to jaw or neck muscle issues.
Do you have earwax that might move around causing this?
Looks like you are another COVID-19 vaccine victim.
Did you have fleeting tinnitus occurrences before?
Your tinnitus might subside once the vaccine effect is over.
The tragus faces rearwards, it aids in collecting sounds originating from behind. These sounds are delayed more than sounds arriving from the front, assisting the brain to sense front versus rear sound sources.

Keep us posted on what you find.
@oceanofsound26 - are there any ear plugs that let sound till a level (say 60 decibel) normally although anything above 60 decibel they reduce by ~20 decibel.

Some people have tinnitus caused by COVID-19 vaccination.
Do you see any connection to the COVID-19 vaccine?
Could you share where do you buy the Cysteine from? And how long have you been taking it?
Great research article - looks like a treatment for hearing loss might happen in a few years.
Question though - why is the ear producing superoxide? Is that part of an anti-inflammation strategy of the ear?
Most folks here have done mistakes... you are not alone. Thanks for posting things that helped you. What medicines (if any) did you take for Vasomotor Rhinitis? And what technique did you use to equalize ear pressure (esp. if a person has ETD it might be tough to equalize)?
@AmePerdue, I'm almost in same boat, a little more advanced. Is your tinnitus unilateral? How was your ear wax removed? You could try Melatonin and see if that works.
Did your tinnitus & hyperacusis appear after the accident or after the treatment?
Some ototoxic medications can cause tinnitus and sometimes the tinnitus is temporary.
Where did you get the Hyperbaric Oygen Therapy at? Was it prescribed by your physician?

For every 2x of distance, the sound level reduces by 6 dB (e.g. moving from 10 to 20 metres away from a sound source). But the next 6 dB reduction means moving from 20 to 40 metres, then from 40 to 80 metres for a further 6 dB reduction.

Also what is your strategy / advice to temporarily receive the click sensation?
@ZaneBerry - I suspect my fleeting tinnitus is due to either posture issues or excess supplements.
Do you take any medication or supplements? Are you doing exercises for posture?

I am wondering whether I might have taken excess B12 due to fleeting tinnitus I have been getting for the past few weeks.
I see a similar correlation between the posture of neck and fleeting tinnitus.
Are you trying any light exercises to loosen and strengthen the jaw & neck muscles (of course with your physician's advice)?
