Custom Earplugs (ACS, Elacin, Etymotic, Westone, etc.)

I can't find Oto-ease for sale in Europe. I just got ACS Pro26, and the audiologist recommended using Vaseline for a better seal. Does this make sense? I'm unsure if it is safe.

My 7-Month Tinnitus Journey After a Concert — A Result of Long-Term Exposure to Loud Music

I wouldn't do this. Having a daily task around tinnitus would probably make it harder to "forget" about it.

Tinnitus from Using Headphones at the Gym: What Can I Do for Some Relief?

4 months update: I'm maybe another 5% better. Progress has definitely slowed down albeit it is still there I think. I've had 3-4 days this month with very little tinnitus. When I had the flu, it was almost gone (no idea why). At the moment I'm able to work in a 33 dB (NIOSH app) room with the...

Tinnitus from Using Headphones at the Gym: What Can I Do for Some Relief?

3 months update: My tinnitus has overall lowered a bit. I rarely get the static sound I used to get in the end of the afternoon that was the most annoying. My sleep is getting better. But weirdly, despite the other improvements, I no longer have days where I wake up nearly without tinnitus...

Thank you! What pressure do you usually go to? Do you take any precautions to avoid barotrauma or issues due to the noise? Can you please explain? HBOT seems to have significant research behind it.

    Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hey everyone, Just got a hold of a private clinic that does HBOT near me. I met an HBOT specialised doctor and he prescribed 3 sessions of 2.0ATM. He claims to have had success in the past. I am 2.5 months past acoustic trauma. For now, my tinnitus is still bothersome but no longer very...

Your profile says you've had tinnitus since 2018, the word on the forum is that HBOT is better in the first 2 weeks. Did you had a new acoustic trauma or why did you decide to try it this much time after onset?

Tinnitus from Using Headphones at the Gym: What Can I Do for Some Relief?

When walking, it's hard to say. It usually happens when I'm in the street, not so much at home; I can't pinpoint why. Maybe more masking outside makes me notice only these temporary spikes. When chewing, it's definitely somatic as I can just clench my jaw and get an instant increase.

Tinnitus from Using Headphones at the Gym: What Can I Do for Some Relief?

Day 60 update: I was going to wait for the full 2 months, but I was having a bit of a rough day so I decided to do this update now. My tinnitus is still there and it is still annoying, but I feel like I've improved a bit further. And it is still much better than at the onset. I decided...

Flunarizine (Calcium Channel Blocker) for Tinnitus?

Thanks! Why did you discontinue after 2 weeks? Did you taper? I'm still confused as to why It is supposed to work on tinnitus. My ENT mentioned increased blood flow to the ears. What do you think?

Flunarizine (Calcium Channel Blocker) for Tinnitus?

No, I had another ENT advise against it. Although she couldn't really explain why, just something about side effects. That and the lack of information online made me not take it as of now. Did you ever take it? Thanks! Should I email him directly or his center?

    Gabapentin (Neurontin)

What's the consensus, is Gabapentin ototoxic? I have a prescription for it and I want to try it as my tinnitus is noise induced. I am concerned about ototoxicity because I am a month into tinnitus and I want to give my ears the best environment to regenerate if possible.

Tinnitus from Using Headphones at the Gym: What Can I Do for Some Relief?

Day 30 update: I had a talk with another ENT doctor. Got prescribed Mexazolam and Flunarizine. I’ll probably give Flunarizine a try. I had a busy day today, had lunch with friends and a visit to the mall. My tinnitus is very bad as a consequence. This is so depressing.

29 days update: Tinnitus itself has gone down to the volume it was before the 2-day spike which is good I think. Have not yet mustered up the courage to return to the gym though. Just got prescribed Gabapentin 300 mg x 2 per day and Clonazepam 0.5 mg before sleep by another ENT. Questions...

24 days update: Things have gotten a bit better. I had great improvement 7 days ago but in the last 2 days things have gotten worse again. Maybe due to a 4 hour car drive even though I wore earmuffs and took about 3 breaks. Could also be lack of sleep as I slept very poorly in the days...
