I am living in constant fear of tinnitus (and other stuff). i never know when this is going to get worse. When the next spike will happen, what tone and how loud it will be. I take plenty of care to avoid loud noises and I still get spikes. I even worry whether it could lead to deafness?

i keep getting these spikes. Some last quite a long time, like a few days. Why is this? I've now got a 200hz tone ringing badly in my right ear. Stupid tinnitus

i think what people like you are seeking is reassurance rather than truth. The truth is not reassuring in some cases. My own doctor told me my tinnitus would go away. That was 10 years ago and Im still suffering. I would rather have the truth than lies.
