2024 US Presidential Election

...I think you have it backwards. Just my opinion.
There is no question that Biden is facing an uphill battle, just as much, if not more so, as Trump.

He made a very big mistake in dismissing RFK, the way that he did. If hehad been given secret service protection, and the opportunity to debate, I doubt that RFK would have run as an independent. Ralph Nader, by running on the Green Party ticket, in 2000, threw the election to Bush, causing Gore to lose by 96,000 votes. The same could happen if more Democrats are disgusted enough with Biden to vote for RFK - and Gore wasn't disliked nearly as much as Biden is.

RFK is far too left-leaning for the majority of Republicans.

Disgruntled Democrats who are sick of Biden, and would prefer a Progressive candidate, have the choice of voting for Cornel West.

Keep reading your tea leaves. Or is it rubbing the glowing orb?

The polls are all showing that Biden and Trump are very close, which I see no reason to dismiss.

They are also showing both DeSantis and Haley, as having a slight advantage over Biden, if either were to be nominated.

Bernie Sanders advised, in Sept. 2023, that a strong Progressive agenda would assure a win for Biden, over Trump, in 2024.

Dunno about that. Thanks to her, a class action lawsuit (which I was a part of) against scummy Town Sports International Holdings, the parent company of New York Sports Club, was successful. They continued to charge us monthly gym dues during the COVID-19 lockdowns, and through her persistent efforts, we were finally able to obtain our refunds. I'll remember that.

I wouldn't be surprised to be honest by this if it did turn out to be true.

I see Trump as an asset of Putin. Not a direct one, but he played to his tune. The man is enamored with dictators and have also threatened to pull the US out of NATO on multiple occasions when he was in office. That kind of rhetoric is music to Putin's ears. This is the same guy that called Putin a 'genius' at the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Seriously...
I watch Bill O'Reilly's No Spin News. He said he gives honest analysis, regardless if it's pertaining to Democrats or Republicans. He is Catholic so I can see him leaning conservative a bit. He differs from Fox and CNN as they both lean right or left to the extreme. I think you have to listen to the majority of American's opinion in the polls as to what they think of the current state of the economy and the current administration.

Your RFK tea leaves. I see no reason to deflect.

If the House Democrats don't want Jim Jordan for Speaker, why did they vote out Kevin McCarthy? In their warped thinking they believe Hakeem Jeffries can become Speaker, which is completely ridiculous. The House Republicans would never let that happen.

Hey, Republican Matt Gaetz called for Kevin's ousting. He's from Florida.

Hello Daniel, I hope all is well with you. I know Matt Gaetz and 7 others exercised the clause, but if the Democrats thought McCarthy was okay they could have voted with the 96% of the Republicans. Jim Jordan will do what's best for the country if he gets elected Speaker. The problem is the Democrats in the Senate refusing to pass any common sense bills passed by the House.

Hi brother.

I am preoccupied with some health issues right now, and don't have the energy to engage in politics right now.

Hope we, the US, and the world can pull through and do better by each other.

Big hugs being sent to Michigan now to you and yours.

Peace,
Daniel

I take it you are still in Laos. I hope your health issues resolve for you buddy. These bodies are fragile. Take care!

The first time I heard about RFK Jr. was several years ago, when I read an article about how he was one of the major sources and sharers of online disinformation and misinformation about vaccinations. I had forgotten about him until I started seeing folks talking about some kind of a run at the 2024 election.

Oddly, when I looked him up, because I was curious, even though it was clear from who I saw pushing him online that he was likely to appeal to the right wing, I found his Wikipedia page full of really positive-seeming background. Civil rights, environmental, etc. The page had been largely scrubbed of reference to his... ahem... other pursuits.

It's been clear from his media appearances, public statements (that he often walks back when confronted about), etc., that he was being eyed by the right-wing media as a challenge to Biden. But the actual positions make him so far removed from the mainstream liberal progressive platform that anyone with an ounce of sense can see that he's far more of an albatross for Trump or any other Republican nominee than he would be for Biden.

He will garner more Republican votes than any other and, as many people are saying, hurt Trump.

Flashback.

Lol, Jim Jordan.

But what is truly astonishing is that all of the people are facing the consequences of backing Trump in his election denial and his campaign to overthrow our government — and they just can't figure out why things have gone so wrong. Rudy Giuliani — disbarred by a legal ethics committee; Sidney Powell — facing a disbarment decision; Jenna Ellis — censured; Lin Wood — retired before he faced being stripped of his law license; Jeffrey Clark — sanctioned and facing disbarment; John Eastman — disbarred; Alina Hanna — sanctioned. Jim Jordan took the bar exam 3 times & never passed it, so he doesn't have to worry about disbarment. Again, they can't seem to figure out that the connection between all of them and these negative consequences is Donald Trump. So Republicans — here's the message — keep right on backing the lies and bad behavior of Donald Trump and we the American public will continue to watch the implosion of your party.

I guess you forgot that I'm in southern Minnesota. It's getting cold here. I suppose you have tropical weather in Laos.
Hi buddy, yah, I forgot. I remember you were on the Great Lakes. Brain glitch.

Yes, it is usually toasty here but, coming into our winter which is my favorite time of the year, it is cool at night and warm in the day.

Stay well and talk to you soon,
DL

I do not think that Rudy Giuliani has been disbarred.
You're right. Thanks for the correction; I got carried away.

The D.C. Board on Professional Responsibility has recommended that former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani be disbarred in the District of Columbia for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.

Everything else is correct.

Kevin McCarthy removed.

Scalise, Jordan & McHenry denied.

No Speaker for weeks.

Nothing passed.

Republicans: 'Our majority is too slim to get things done!!'

Nancy Pelosi with the same slim majority:

The Inflation Reduction Act, Access to Baby Formula Act, CHIPS and Science Act, Safer Communities Act, PACT Act, Violence Against Women Act, American Rescue Plan,
Respect for Marriage Act, The Infrastructure and Jobs Act, the American Rescue Plan...

All of it... in heels.

None of those bills have anything that is beneficial to me.

We need a Stop the Influx of Migrants Act.

"If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed ... and we will deserve it."

— Lindsey Graham, May 2016

And yet, the Republicans knew the mess this would make of their own house and they did it all anyway. Bunch of professional chumps and chaos monkeys.

Governor DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy are extremely bright and no-nonsense presidential candidates. When I look at Biden, I think of that man made of straw on the Wizard of Oz.

The Republican Party proved to be so anti-government that it cannot govern at all. Witness the current Republican House of reps complete disorder and confusion.

And driving that chaos is the Republican House, which has created a breeding pool for the poorly educated for decades that constantly escalated via outrage to fuel electorate turnout. Now the outrage has nowhere else to climb but into violence, and the party itself is now split between the originating grifters who profited from that gullibility and the next generation of true believers that actually embraced the nonsense and built identities off it to the point where they can't functionally continue the con.

A few are still riding the wave, but it has nowhere else to go but into armed rebellion... that being bad for business and fatal for the future of the party is spurring the "concern" at the top. These people have absolutely no foresight, not even the ones holding the reigns.

And now the Republicans can't even do their elected job of governing. What did you think will happen?

Trump actually had a very good administration, compared to the current Biden trainwreck.

If it had not been for COVID-19, and the lies of Democrats, which have since been disproven, Trump would have easily won in 2020. I am glad that he wrecked the Republican Party, they needed a good shakeup. The Democrats would be wise to do the same.

Trump 2020 Election interference co-defendants are pleading guilty to their crimes and have agreed to give testimony in court.

We now can add senior legal advisor to Donald Trump, Jenna Ellis, who is now joining former Trump lawyers Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro in pleading guilty.

The dominoes are falling. Lawyers don't take plea deals unless their professional opinion is that the evidence is overwhelming against them and they cannot construct their own defense.

Like, it's one thing to have a client who doesn't cooperate or take your advice and thus torpedos the case. It's another to have a license to practice law and determine you cannot feasibly defend yourself in court.

So much winning. Can't wait to see Trump's bizarre automatic reaction to claim he never knew her or worked with her.

BTW: How many indictments does Biden have?

I don't even care if they "interfered" with the election, in fact, I'm sorry that they didn't get away with it, as the Democrats did by having the USPS handle a large percentage of votes, many of which were lost or discarded because they are not election workers, and incompetent on top of that.

Now the Democrats putting illegal immigrants in tents on Federal Land in public parks which are supposed to be for American citizens to enjoy.

I could go on and on. The people are getting fed up.

Normally, I would say that a man like Trump should not be POTUS, but we are facing a situation where we cannot take any more of Biden. If he is elected, the chances are that he will not be able to finish his term, and an even bigger idiot than him will be sworn in to take his place.

The sting of reality is starting to really burn now that Meadows has flipped. What else is there to say? No longer able to defend the Trump Crime family.

The majority of Americans have this message for Biden:

We will have a new "Sheriff" riding into town in January 2025, to try to fix what Joe Biden and the Democrats f***ed up in this country (excuse my French). I'm okay with Governor DeSantis as well.
