2024 US Presidential Election

Context: When Reagan gave that talk Canada, Mexico, and China were not flooding our country with criminals and extremely deadly drugs such as Fentanyl. Trump must do everything in his power to stop this, and if it means there will be tariffs, then there will be tariffs these countries stop poisoning the United States.
Additional context:
Less than 1% of all fentanyl enters the United States through Canada.

As for Trump's supposedly unfair Canadian tariffs:
High tariffs apply to fewer than 1% of U.S. dairy exports to Canada, and only when these are above a certain volume limit. The U.S. also has high tariffs above certain volume limits for Canadian dairy, sugar, peanut butter, and other agricultural products.

I'm not really sure what problem Trump is specifically trying to solve with regards to Canada.

Especially because Trump negotiated the USMCA himself.

What do you want me to say? That protests are in fact legal and protected under the 1st Amendment? That Trump only cares about protests conducted by the "radical left" but turns a blind eye to right-leaning protests? That ultimately Trump's definition of "free speech" is whatever he likes and agrees with?
Are you saying that any protests, from a march in the middle of an avenue(s) without a permit, the blocking of students and teachers from classrooms, threats against people of certain groups, etc., are protected under the First Amendment?

I honestly don't know whether to laugh or cry!
I don't know, but Norwegians usually have a grin from ear to ear during gay or transgender sex. You could cry like a baby because of all of the accomplishments our President has gotten done so far. Be happy that Trump is trying to end the Ukraine-Russia war. It's nice to have a common-sense POTUS with a sense of humor.

Did you Norwegians say bad things about Biden when he was President, or only bad things about Trump now that he is once again President.

You sound just like the Democrats to me.

So, he addresses the nation and claims that the former administration spent $8 million to MAKE MICE TRANSGENDER!?!

I mean, the desperation, the absurdity, the sheer embarrassment he brings to the world—it's honestly terrifying.

Are you okay with this, @Luman? Doesn't it make you question his cognitive abilities, intelligence, or even his morals?

It also raises serious concerns about his advisors and the people literally standing behind him, who seemed to buy into it—looking like Beavis and Butt-Head.

Just to clarify: what he read or heard was TRANSGENIC, which refers to altering the genetic makeup of lab rats for research. Probably tinnitus research as well. It does not mean changing the sex of mice!

The worst part? This probably came from his top D.O.G.(E.), maybe as an effort to make him look stupid? I honestly don't know whether to laugh or cry!

Keep eating your cats and dogs!
So any word that has trans in it must be bad.

That would explain why Trump is destroying Transatlantic relations.

A new study from the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law finds that 81% of transgender adults in the U.S. have thought about suicide, 42% of transgender adults have attempted it, and 56% have engaged in non-suicidal self-injury over their lifetimes. From a U.S. transgender population health survey, conducted by researchers at the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, Columbia University, Harvard University, and The Fenway Institute at Fenway Health.
This is a very high rate of mental illness, and should not be ignored.

Listening to Trump's new press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, I see what a bright and articulate person she is, and she is only 27. I was really impressed by her speaking to reporters the day after Trump's joint address to Congress.

Probably because they're free to do so without being villainized by their government for it.

In that regard, Norway is truly a "Land of the Free," and the US stands much to learn from it.

More importantly: why are you so obsessed with gay/transsexual sex?

I thought that some of the Norwegians on this thread were against Trump because he refuses to hang a PRIDE flag on the White House like Biden did. I don't remember you berating Biden like you do Trump. I'm not interested in gay/transsexual sex, but I thought perhaps some Norwegians were and that's why they don't like Trump. Trump is a major upgrade from Biden according to most Americans. Biden is either the worst or 2nd worst POTUS in history.

Give it time!
Trump has already closed the border and is deporting illegal criminal gang members along with stopping Fentanyl from crossing the border from Mexico and Canada. He is trying to end the stalemate Ukraine-Russia war to stop all of the killings. I know Putin is evil, but the war must stop to save human lives. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has met with Russian representatives in Saudi Arabia. At least, that is a start to a peaceful negotiation with Putin. Zelenskyy needs to sign the mineral deal ASAP.

You'd think that as a tinnitus sufferer yourself, you would be more concerned about the Trump administration harassing and firing FDA employees on a daily basis.

He's fired about 5% of the 18,000 FDA employees, and most of those affected were probationary. The agency is planning to rehire about 300 staffers including workers in food safety, medical devices, and tobacco.

Elon Musk explains the NGO Scam

"The government-funded NGOs are a way to do things that would be illegal if they were the government"

"The whole NGO thing is a nightmare. It's a misnomer because if you have a government-funded non-governmental organization, you're simply a government-funded organization. it's an oxymoron"

"The government-funded NGOs are a way to do things that would be illegal if they were the government but are somehow made legal if it's sent to a so-called non-profit. But these non-profits are then used for people to cash out these non-profits. They become very wealthy through non-profits. They pay themselves enormous sums through these non-profits."

"It's so insane that that's been going on for so long. — It's a gigantic scam. Like one of the biggest, maybe the biggest scam ever."

Every once in a while I drop by to see whether any of the resident quislings begin to recognize the failures of their POTUS. Maybe with a tinge of shame or regret. Obviously, no such luck.

OTOH, it doesn't really matter. The onslaught on democracy and civility would continue, regardless of whether any of Tinnitus Talk's residents had a Damascus moment or not. What matters more is that even the most rabid right-wing publication for three-digit IQ audiences seems to have changed course.

Look at this.

Here's hoping for a sea change.

Canada relies on the United States for military protection, which is free. If they had any self-respect, they would once again allow the United States to keep nuclear arms or equipment in their country or contribute their fair share to the cost of this technology - but they do not have self-respect. They deserve tariffs for this reason alone. All Trump has asked them to do is secure their borders, as they did in the past, but they refuse, and illegals keep entering the United States this way.

I wonder how Canadians would feel if the United States got rid of all its nukes, leaving the continent vulnerable to enemy countries that had nuclear weapons.

If they won't contribute, or at least let us store some of our nuclear equipment in Canada, they do not deserve our protection. I'm sure that Trump agrees with this, but he won't say it.

It appears that your bloviating was for naught. The defense 'evidence' presented to the Judge turned into a hill of beans; he ruled there was only 'an appearance' of impropriety and that the defense "failed to meet their burden of proving that the District Attorney acquired an actual conflict of interest," as opposed to any wrongdoing by Willis and Wade. Willis and her prosecuting team only need a new prosecutor to "move forward without his presence or remuneration distracting from and potentially compromising the merits of this case."

From beginning to end, this was just a distraction from the crimes that Trump committed and a way to delay his prosecution. Don't forget we all heard Trump on tape ask Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find 11,780" votes.

Trump will stand trial for election interference in Georgia, and it will be comforting to everyone who felt the prosecutor was "super underqualified" will now be replaced with someone way more qualified.
Despite what this post from March 15, 2024 post claimed, Trump is not going to be further prosecuted in the Fulton County, Georgia, election case.

Legislators in the Georgia Senate have unanimously passed a bill that will allow Trump to seek compensation for his legal costs.

The corrupt DA, Fani Willis, who started the case in 2021 and was removed from it last year, must be fuming, lol.

We got one on November 5th, 2024. We went from corruption and nonsense to common sense and DOGE.
I'm pretty sure I got a few "funny" ratings because of Trump's sense of humor. Either that or no doubt they have severe TDS (which is more common than you think). 77 million Americans voted for Trump-Vance for a reason.

Yeah, because they have lead in their brains.
Making disparaging remarks about the majority of voters in the United States is fine, and nobody cares.

Donald Trump is arresting and deporting criminal migrants who have invaded America; he influenced Panama to end Chinese control of the canal, is trying to stop the Russia-Ukraine fighting, and more.

Trump has only been in office for 50 days and has 1408 remaining. This may be the most productive administration in U.S. presidential history.

@Luman and @just1morething:

Apparently, Trump ordered the US military to start drafting plans to take over the Panama canal forcibly. On top of that, he reiterated his desire to annex both Canada and Greenland.

I remember one or both of you stating that you voted for Trump because he is an anti-war President. However, his current statements and actions seem to contradict this.

What's your take on this? And how do you feel about Trump's foreign policy so far?

In a worst-case scenario, would you support Trump putting boots on the ground in Canada or Greenland?
