- Years of excessively loud headphone use
2 months ago I suffered acoustic trauma to both my ears due to loud headphone music. Ever since then in my bad ear (left) (they are both pretty bad by comparison before the trauma) feels like theirs something inside it.
No, my eardrum is not ruptured. I did rupture it a few years ago from a q-tip. That's when I learned q-tip/cotton swab in ear= bad. I can't remember which ear it was. But it completely healed.
If I had a ruptured eardrum now my audiologist, ENT, primary care doctor, nurse after nurse and pediatrician at two different hospitals would have seen it. It's safe to say. My ear canal and eardrum have been check on their exterior enough times to know they are fine.
I want to know if someone has had the same sensation. It doesn't hurt. Nor does it cause me pain. It just feels like theirs a mass inside my ear that shouldn't be there. I've been blessed with the ability to wiggle my ears. I feel it really pronounced then when I do.
I got tested for neuroma and luckily nothing came up.
