I developed pt three months ago and it has changed my life.
I am not sure how it started but leading up to it I took calcium tablets for a month. I also had a wisdom tooth filled and was given local aneathetic when the follwoing day I developed an earache but it was quite mild. during this time I had shooting pains in my other ear. I stopped the calcium tablets and the following day I discoevered I had pt. I also went to the hair dressers and my head was bent back over the sick on the day my pt started. Could any of these have caused my tinnitus.
My tinnitus is unusual I think. It is the same as my pulse and can vary in loudness. It sounds like a high pitched cymbol. WHEN I momove my head around it sounds like lots of cymbols. WHEN I bend my neck down, turn to the left, stand still or pinch my nose together it will stop but start again when I stop doing this. IT is mostly loud and especially when I sit or lie down. I am finding it very difficult to cope with. I t changes all day long. I can feel it pulsating at the back of my head. I have had an mri but nothing showed up. I WAS JUST TOLD THAT MY ACCOUSTIC NERVE WAS OLD, I am 54. I had no problems before this just some wax in my ears which was cleared by suction on the day of ent appt. ent didnt want hear my description of my tinnitus.
Would you be able to throw some light on this please?
Thank you
