I had two discs in my neck replaced 3 years ago, always had ringing in my ears but now it is horrible. I started taking a CBD oil 3 days ago hoping that would help. I am on the lowest starting dose so I am giving it a chance to work. It has calmed me and gotten rid of my jaw pain so I am hopeful.

@pjherbert, I had a fusion C5-C7 last year with complications. Do you think your ringing is caused by muscle spasms or nerve compression? My noise is bad atm. Hard to find relief. Good luck with the CBD oil.

I've tried pretty much everything under the sun with little to n success.

Have you tried CBD oil for your tinnitus?
What caused your tinnitus?
What was the effect?
If it worked, how much did it reduce your tinnitus/how long did it last?

Thanks in advanced for any replies.
As usual, searching for relief through any means necessary like a lot of us on here, so just wanted to be more informed about my decision.

EDIT: this was merged with Drecul's post. I got my hopes up about CBD based on this thread somewhat, hoping it's not for nothing. I did notice Drecul said it helped him with a spike which is pretty disheartening considering the initial post didn't indicate that it was a spike that was reduced by CBD but instead his base tinnitus levels.

@cviechec, I understand where you are coming from. I used to take a lot of advil years ago for neck pain so maybe that contributed but that is hindsight and we all need relief. Mine is really tormenting me right now. Nothing has worked consistently more than one day. Maybe more blood flow to ears with neck stretches, possibly Ginkgo and exercise. I need to exercise as I do very little if any lately.

@just1morething Indeed. Ibuprofen is what did me in, unfortunately. I'm 100% certain that it was the cause of my tinnitus. I took large doses for carpal-tunnel related wrist symptoms due to the advice of a family friend medical student. Was stupid in hindsight, should have just gone to a doctor. However, a lot of people take large doses of anti-inflammatories and don't get severe T, so I don't really blame him for the situation I'm in now

Is CBd oil and Hemp oil the same thing?
In addition to being derived from slightly different strains of the same plant, hemp oil and CBD oil are produced from different parts of their respective plants.

Hemp oil is produced from the seeds of the hemp plant, much like oils derived from olives, almonds, and coconuts. CBD is produced from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the Cannabis sativa plant.

So I remember reading about trobalt. How it was designed for seizures that sort of thing. And I've been reading up on CBD. How some CBD is for seizures. Can theoretically CBD suppress T the way trobalt does.

No it can't, simply because those two compounds act on different neuronal channels/transmitters.

Okay. Thank you for your reply. Search for relief continues!!
It's never bad to try things. CBD? I don't find it dangerous to try. Trobalt it's a different story. I believe promising if it is administered before tinnitus spreads and chronicity kicks in. But given the fact that this drug is discontinued from the market, it's pointless to discuss it. I wish we could find relief and become ourselves once again.

I don't think this is necessarily true. Yes, it may not act on the same neuronal channels/transmitters as Trobalt, but that doesn't mean theoretically it can't be effective in suppressing T (In my opinion)

Cannabidiol Oil definitely helped me with my T. It's 4th day since I stared to use it, and from the 1st day it lowered my T by at least 50% and also changed its frequency for much less annoying. I'm using this one, it's 19.99 on eBay and recommended dosage is 4 drops a day, so whole bottle should last for months I guess.

Yikes, I also used to take Advil a lot back in the period my T started (17 years ago), now I start to wonder if indeed there may be a relation. I always thought it was sound/anxiety related, but maybe it just the Advil I took for my sinusitis ? Wonder if that kind of ototoxic T can go away one day.

Hi, dorje! For the price you paid, seems that is the 250 mg oil, not the 1000 mg as shown in the picture. Could you please confirm which oil you purchased and post the eBay link if you don't mind? I want to buy the same oil as you, but the 1000 mg bottle is too expensive on the Canabidol web.

Thank you very much.

I went to a CBD festival recently.

Some of the CBD bud they're growing these days is pretty incredible. Legally it's hemp, but the science and precision of production makes it look like high end pot.
Linearb, I know nothing about CBD oil, but I would like to give it a try. I know that only hemp oil is legal in Europe and I've seen two kinds of it, clear and raw. They sell raw and clear for the same price, but I'm not sure they are the same concentration. Do you know if raw is usually better than clear when the concentration is the same?
I hope you don't mind replying my question.
Thank you very much.

I really have no idea, that is not a distinction I've seen made, but my guess is that raw still has more plant fats / terpanes / etc. So, it's a more "full spectrum" representation of what's in the plant, and then they probably do additional processing to try to further isolate the CBD for the "clear".

Personally I take stuff as raw as I can get it, much of what I have now is just raw hemp buds, basically looks like pot but doesn't cause any intoxication. I also have a couple vials of full-spectrum MCT oil, which is probably similar to the "raw".

A month ago I bought 2 small bottles of CBD oil, which is mainly the essential oil of the Hemp plant. Hemp is a little brother of the Cannabis plant without the THC component (the component that makes you high).

Is it anything like this?

I see, raw has everything in it, it's the full plant extract. This sounds good, me too rather take raw than refined, so I'll definitely buy the raw one. Thanks very much for your help and your time.

I just found this place, but have been suffering from tinnitus for most of my adult life. It got real bad in 2000, and I've been hearing nonstop tones and buzzing ever since. I have been to Vanderbilt ENT specialists, tried acupuncture, Chinese herbs, mercurium, and meditation with limited success. I've had problems with fluid not draining from my middle ear and currently have a tube in my left ear.

This is the first T support forum I have ever read through, and it has made me realize how bad I have it, and how bleak the outlook is. I have just ignored it, or habituated as you guys call it for a long time. My Tinnitus Handicap Index is 52, which is borderline severe. This is HARD to live with. In some ways, ignoring all of it and not exposing myself to other peoples stories of how they cope with it made it easier to live with. I just blocked it out. Not any more. I can't live with this forever.

The meditation and acupuncture seem to have been the best methods of relief I have come across so far, especially in conjunction with each other. The CBD oil sounds promising, so I am trying it, along with Magnesium. I just started last night and the tones do seem somewhat reduced. I spent about $140 on these two products. Wish me luck!
