Alternatives to Foam Earplugs?

I was wondering if any of you can recommend an alternative to regular foam earplugs that is close to equally as protective (besides earmuffs).

For some reason foam earplugs always hurt when I put them in and also never seem to fit me right. Maybe I have small ear canals.

Silicone ear plugs- easier to put in than foam, but NRR25 for most of them.

How do these compare to Howard Leight Max-1? I saw that the Max-1 is NRR 33 and the one you posted is NRR 32?

The silicone plugs are not as protective, but easier to use.
