Are Muscle Pain Creams Dangerous? Can They Make Tinnitus Worse?

I believe one usage of Voltaren cream on my shoulders and neck has caused a bad spike for me - i had no idea a cream could be an issue. This is awful - new high frequency tones cutting in and out.

Don't use it.
How are you doing now?

I just tried some Voltaren Extra Strength 2.32% Diclofenac cream for 2 days on my neck and shoulders using the dosing card supplied so I haven't exceeded the daily recommended dose.

My tinnitus is raging now. Hopefully it's just from me worrying. If it was really that ototoxic, this would have been known and experienced by many people.

I believe it took 10-14 days for the spike to settle down. I remember it was not long after I used the cream that I experienced the spike. I'm not sure how a cream can cause a spike but I think it did.

I would recommend maybe trying Turmeric as a more natural muscle pain reliever.

Does applying the cream on your neck and shoulder increase the risk of it making to your inner ear?
