Sinus Infection?
I just took a very hot bath which not only soothed my mind, but it made my ringing cease for the duration of the bath. I did hear an intense beating in my left ear, which is the ear that is primarily affected by T. This is great news, seeing as I have a sinus infection, my body temp going up was pumping blood at a fast and heavy pace. It also seemed to open up my E-tube (that's my guess, since the ringing stopped). My right ear felt completely unplugged, but as I type this now it gets the vacuum feeling when I swallow and is staying plugged to the point where I can sort of hear myself talking. It's done this before, and usually opens back up. The T did come back at its soft level soon after getting out, though. But this is a good sign, isn't it? A temporary relief shows signs of a full recovery in the near future...thoughts?

Update: Since my right ear was plugged for a bit (it's clear now) I noticed the ringing at the same volume in my right ear while I was inhaling steam from hot water. I highly recommend steam for anyone who is having congestion with their tinnitus.

No, maybe Eustachian tube dysfunction?

Well, I have had a sinus infection for a while now which is causing my eustachian tubes to be just as enflamed as my nasal passage. So I do believe it is getting better and clearing up because the ringing has gone down in volume over the last week or so, and my ears have been clearing up as well.

Hopefully that's all it is then. In time it'll clear up.

I hope so as well! I will hold my celebrations, of course, because I can't afford to get my hopes up only to be shot down when the ringing does not cease. I am aware that ETD can last a long time, but seeing as I have postnasal drip and the occassional stuffy nose, the ETD I have now should go away as the infection is defeated by my immune system, thus eliminating the tinnitus. I will hold my celebrations because it has been 10 weeks now but I'm hopeful!
