Cause of Tinnitus
Ear infection
I've just had two manageable days and four last week and today my tinnitus is back to a screaming high pitch across the inside of my head.

As I work at a row of desk and the noise from people is irritating me at the minute I had one foam ear plug in my left ear. I popped some hard mints into my mouth and bit into one using the [almost] front of my teeth and the mint cracked suddenly but my tinnitus suddenly shot up in frequency and is still the same 10 minutes later. I have TMJ in my left jaw.

Why was this - was it because the jaw is so close to the ear that it irritated it? Will it settle?

I think we have to eat softer foods more often or from now on. Those with jaw issues, anyway.

I don't see why it wouldn't go back down after a short while. The jaw is close to auditory structure, nerves, bones etc. I would give up the mints, though.
