Blowing Air in the Ear? Dangerous for Hearing?

Hi!

I was at my ENT today and did a hearing test which showed completely normal values.

Lastly, he examined my ears and at the end he blew air with a bellows (I think that's what it's called - a small hand pump) into both my ears. He wanted to check how my ear drums were moving.

Later I panicked because I don't know if the air he blew in my ears might have damaged something? At the end of the examination as well... when I knew everything was okay with my hearing... :sorry:

Is blowing a stream of air with a hand pump going to damage your eardrum, middle ear or inner ear?
Should I be worried? Could it cause permanent tinnitus?
 
If nobody responds, you can do a search here to see if there are prior posts on this condition. Here is one such post by a member who did think the blowing of air by ENT did cause his tinnitus to spike a little. But there is no indication of damaging hearing or eardrums. Try read this:

@NO MOOD ent doc did this to me now my inner ears hurt really bad
