Burning Ear Pain

I'm so sorry :( the burning really is the cherry on top of a crappy ear situation.

I'm fairly new to the burning so unfortunately I haven't found much that helps nor what sets it off. I'm suspecting some form of atypical neuralgia.
I think it's some form of hyperacousis in my case.
I wish there's something I can do to help you!

I get reactive Tinnitus too .. I can go from level 1 to level 7 .. when its really bad I get pain in my ears too. I went to the Dr and he said I had otitis externa ... and prescribed some drops. They seem to help with the acute pain but it keeps coming back. Strangely it seems to be worse sitting on my lounge .. when I lay down it fades.

It just gets worse and worse and I'm not really sure what's causing it :( it comes in waves of like 30 minutes of burning and then backs off and starts back up again.

So upsetting.

I have visual snow too so I really worry about taking potential drugs. But I can't even get in to see a neurologist without an MRI so I'm just at a loss.

Have you tried taking small dose of benzo (I take Rivotril) to see if it helps?

I really have no clue why the noxacusis went away 99%, and hearing made a decent recover (not full) but I ended up falling victim to a new more more horrifying health problem that shares nothing in common. FML
My audiologist is a joke, she said it's all stress related... anyways, how long did it take you before you started seeing improvements?
