I was so stupid to do it
I am 100X worse now. I wish i had never done it. I thought oh how can water inserted into your ear cause damage, well it did. I am f***ed for good now

It was quite some time since @dpdx posted, but by reading his profile posts, it seems he did indeed get better.

I don't have any experience with the Caloric test, but I think you can recover too, given enough time and vigilant use of hearing protection.

I had the caloric test with air. And I already had/have severe tinnitus with 6-10 sounds, fleeting tinnitus and whatnot and moderate-severe hearing loss... At least the caloric test while video-oculography showed damage at the vestibular organs and nystagmus. So it was definitely worth it and no issues came from it.

@guenguer, did you have tinnitus before the caloric test? Did the test give you tinnitus or worsen it by any way?
