Can Change of Diet Make Tinnitus Worse?

Excuse my lack of knowledge, but what is the use of a protein diet?
What foods are you getting your protein from? I don't think the protein itself can be harmful, but certain protein-rich foods can be.

@walkthroughwalls
Due to tinnitus related stress I have put on a fair bit of weight so eating protein high diet is suppose to help.
Meat is where I get my protein from.
I can definetly hear my tinnitus louder, not sure if there is a connection.

I drink whey protein shakes and have had no noticible spikes. Cheese and crackers seem to cause a spike. But not coclusive lol. Needs further testing.

@valeri
I'm sorry to hear about your stress and weight gain :(

It's hard not to sound like the typical pain-in-the-neck vegetarian here, but... the information I've found says that plant-based diets are generally healthier. You may want to consider moving in that direction a bit. Beans, legumes, tofu and nuts are rich in protein, so you don't have to give up your high protein diet if you don't want to.

I think it's more important to stay away from the saturated fat and cholesterol commonly found in animal products, though. Definitely for weight loss, and possibly for a better blood flow and a decrease in tinnitus. I say possibly, because as always with T, it's hard to predict what will actually help.

Sorry again if I sound like a stereotype. I'm just trying to help.
