Hi,

I have had T for approx 6 years. It has recently doubled in volume and I am not sure of the cause.

The only changes have been driving more often (car noise), wearing boots silicon ear plugs while driving.

Listening to a radio all day at work (which now is on a low volume).

I feel as though the only thing continuing to cause the tinnitus to worsen could be the complete blocking of my ear with these ear plugs.

Could this be possible?

Thanks for your support :)

I'd be curious regarding an answer to this to as it amplified the ringing while in but how else are you supposed to protect your ears

Yeah, it is amplified when in, then usually goes back to normal but recently hasnt :/

Wonder if anyone knows for sure

Hey, for me earplugs can make it worse. Im pretty sure its because it is starving the brain of any outside sound at all. When the brain isnt getting any stimulus it tries to make up its own.

Thanks for your reply. Do you think filtered ear plugs would be better as some sound can come in and out?

I am fairly new to T and I'm off to Glastonbury festival next week, bought some expensive filter type earplugs with 16db reduction.

I have used them a few times while working a sound desk and T is far worse afterwards for a while but I seem to get a rest from it the next day when without plugs it would be constant after a gig damage.

I'll try and remember to write again after the festival
