Can Ototoxic Drugs Linger in the Ear?

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I gotta ask you something @Dr. Nagler
I took cipro, the antibiotic in may/june 2013. I developed my H in November 2013 without any apparent cause. Could the cipro have caused my H even though I didnt have any side effects while I was on it? Could the cipro still be in my system and that's why I'm still getting worse?

This may be a stupid question but I thought I should ask, just came to think about that possibilty today.

No and no.

If I may ask, what are you doing to treat your hyperacusis?

I was prescribed Neomycin and polymyxin b sulfates and hydrocortisone otic suspension 3 years ago and have had Tinnitus ever since, only recently has become more than annoying. I now hear it over noise and over conversations. I'm angry at the pharmaceutical company that doesn't place a big fat WARNING in RED stating that it can cause permanent tinnitus, in these words exactly in the front of the bottle, so that we can understand and we do not miss it. Also, I'm angry with the doctor that prescribed it as he should have also warned me about this potential life long sentence. I'm angry and hopeless that this will forever be my life. Yes, it's not cancer and yes it's not heart disease; but it is a constant annoying ringing in your ear that can be debilitating at times, aggravating, and depressing to accept that it's a forever condition.
