I am not picky when it comes to what kind of cancer. If it kills quickly is good enough for me, after I had enough of this T "life".Not to nitpick, but I really hate it when people refer to cancer as if it was a single disease.

Ditto.I would give both my legs to have silence again no joke...

Wow thank you!!! 2020 looks like a clear intersection where we are heading....Hi guys,
I'm sure many of you have seen this before, but there seems to be a general prediction of around 2020 where some realistic things can be developed to help T :

Thought it might be worth sharing
Hello all,
So as of now. What other channels research are looking for a cure on T? Other than this device of dr. Shore? Any pills? Other ways to attack this problem? If anybody knows to update me?

I think something concrete will be in 2025. But I hope they work faster and reliable!!!
I would rather they focus on fixing Tinnitus before getting a rat to speakwhen they get a rat to speak
Then there will be a cure
Thank you for that!!!Have a look at the research thread, though I can understand if it's a bit overwhelming at first. From how I understand it there are two ways to treat tinnitus: 1) if your tinnitus comes with an underlying hearing loss, treat the hearing loss and hope the brain reorganizes itself - 2) don't treat the hearing loss but suppress the hyperactivity within the brain that is your tinnitus (and you could say 3) things like acupuncture, physical therapy, etc might help as well, but they are not a guaranteed cure)
Hair Cell Regeneration
Repairing Synaptic Damage (for Hidden Hearing Loss)

- Otonomy - OTO-6XX

NMDA receptor antagonist
- Affichem - AF-243
- Otonomy - OTO-413
- Hough Ear Institute
- Bionics Institute and University of Melbourne
- ...
Potassium channel opener
- Otonomy - OTO-313

- ...
Devices

- ...
And many more!
- University of Michigan
- Mute Button (trials in Germany & Ireland, due to finish next month)
- ...
Maybe we should have a summary at the beginning of each research thread that is being updated regularly. Or one thread pinned at the top of the research section which lists all the companies working towards a cure.
You said your tinnitus had improved within the first two months, has it improved more since then?
I'm extremely interested in how the Mutebutton trials go. I think it will be an extra indicator for devices like Signal Timing.Have a look at the research thread, though I can understand if it's a bit overwhelming at first. Due to the causes of tinnitus it won't be one treatment fits all as tinnitus has many sub categories.

These are all the trials I'm currently aware of. Other companies might also announce upcomping trials in the coming years, I'm especially looking forward to hearing more from Affichem.
Nobody in the first Susan Shore trial got cured, it's not a cure... a small reduction in tinnitus loudness at best.Who knows...maybe next year we will have a cure for T after Shore's experiment seriously.

Not accurate. She said on FB live that those 2 got their tinnitus back later. Look at the video on youtube.2 out of 20 participants reported complete elimination of their T.

I agree but the major thing out of it is that she will know MORE about the T. The root of the mechanism, then she can really pin the solution for it once and for all.Treatment for any disease usually begins with something that reduces it. Finding something that reduces tinnitus is a big deal because there has never been a treatment aimed at reducing/eliminating tinnitus before. It has all just been coping strategies.
