I have had tinnitus for as long as I can remember. I'm 60 1/2 years old. I've not ever tried to get rid of it because all the doctors I've seen over my whole life have said there's nothing we can do to help it. I do find it to be louder now than when I was younger. It's a high pitched ring in both ears. I hear it all day until I go to sleep. It also pulses like I can hear the blood pulse through my head. :dunno:

@Pamela Van Nest

We know what you are dealing with. I have had tinnitus that started out mild in 1995 and is now raging loud high pitch that never shuts down. To top it off, I suffered Sudden Hearing Loss in both ears not long ago and am now completely deaf. So there is no way to distract me from this crap. However, life still goes on and I still hope someone will find a decent treatment for us. May be much to ask tho.

How do you manage to get thru your days?

Also the pulses you describe have me wondering....... have you had your blood pressure checked lately?

I'm very sorry to hear about your suffering! Deafness is such a tremendous added cross to bear. I don't have anything to complain about because I can use sound to concentrate on to make it more bearable. You're in my thoughts and prayers Mike.
Yes, my blood pressure is usually low-normal.

Don't worry Pamela, everyone acclimates in time, T is 10% noise 90% reaction!

Gosh, I couldn't even type that without groaning.

So sorry you've had to suffer this pointless horror!

My reply above stated I had mild tinnitus since 1995. It actually started in 2005. It was after a surgery on my kidney in 2011 that my tinnitus peaked to this severe level.

Tinnitus is mara. It is a projection of your mind.
I agree but IDK how useful this really is to most people here, I think that 99.999% of what most people in 'civilized' cultures concern themselves with is mara ;) If I'm slightly more enlightened than the average mouth breather, perhaps I clock in around 99.998.
